Indoor Why not Go 12x12 ?

Once an AF has stopped veg and is in "full flower mode" why not go 12 x 12 ?

My thinking is this :

A photo plant goes 12x12 to induce flowering, it cannot change this otherwise you would be forcing it back to veg mode. However Photos do very well at 12x12 flowering, their yields and bud quality are as good if not better than AF if we take the extra veging that a photos can get.

AF's are generally flowered at 18x6 20x4 24x0 but photos show that 12 hours of light is all we need, the extra hours do not seem to correlate to a massive increase in bud size or potency once veging has stooped ( or been forced to stop)

Since many of us have cheaper elec at night, it would be good sense to go 12x12 for flowering ? And with that cheaper elec we could afford to double our lighting wattage at night. ( i pay 16p per KWh day and 6p per KWh from 12.00 to 7.00 am)

But am i missing the bleeding obvious ? has anyone tried 12x12 for flowering and got good/bad results ?

Photoperiod tend to take 10 weeks to flower and Autos are more like 6 weeks,your autos will take the same amount of time on 12/12 but you would get much less bud.

Do you mean total flowering time excluding veg ? And if i doubled my light power on 12x12 would i not get at least as good buds or better than 24x0 for less elect

24x0 = 7 hours @ 6p PH = 42p 17 hoyrs @ 16p ph = 272p total =314p

12x12 =7 hours @ 6p = 42 p 5 hours @ 16p ph= 80p = total =122p
Now if we double the light on 12x12 so that would double the costs = 244p

so the flowers get the same amount of light 24x7 at 600w or 12x12 at 1200w but the 12x12 is cheaper

This is a hard one to answer since I just use the recommended lighting from the original breeder. However, If space on my table is getting tight, I will give the plants 24 hours lights out. this forces all the fan leaves to do what I call sunflowering. Basically they make themselves narrower stretching upwards for light instead of being bushy and all over the place.

Other than that, can't give any advice on 12/12.. I you think it's worth giving a shot, why not? If you screw it up, then you screw it up lol. But then again, you may get what you want.

Yield will be drmatically reduced with 12/12 with autos .

?

have you never tried a photo with an increase ?

13 hours on will indeed increase bud growth with a photo

experiment , find the max hours you can give your photos without them reverting back to veg , you will see improvement in growth

i wouldnt advise trying it with a sativa or a sativa dom plant though
