:smelly:Sadly, this girl is ballin' on a budget. Just got five fems in, 4 are autos.

I currently have two CFL's, one 2700k and one 6400k. I have a little 75w bulb in a heating lamp for back up. Is this sufficient?? Trying to get max yield with what I've got. Any tips on these??

Also, being my first grow, I'm trying to figure out ventilation and such. I starting germinating two seeds yesterday, and I'd like to know how much time I have to get my vent system up and running.

Do you have a thermometer to measure the temps? That'll help solidify whether you need more or less heat. Also what's your growing medium? Soil, coco, hydro?

Hello there. Shoot over to Intros and tell everyone a bit about yourself. We're real friendly here and like that, plus you'll get more help, too. First off, there's a lot to cover if you're just getting into it with no homework. I suggest reading as much as you can here and now. There are some great links in my signature down there to start. There is also a New Growers Forum to browse around, too. :D

Ventilation is one of many important factors in growing good ganja. Not trying to discourage you at all, m'dear, just trying to help. That's what I do here. :check: :tip:

No thermometer, just keeping the thermostat at a solid 75. Soil growing!

Thank you! I've been trying to soak it all in but there's so much to learn.

Well, you know, those CFL's produce plenty of heat themselves... you might be able to ditch the heat lamp. You've got two 125w cfls - that's plenty of light for about 2 square feet, which if you train your plants, you'd be able to fit four... if you keep em small and stunted. If you have a cardboard box or something to keep everything in you might fair better at controlling the environment, which we all attempt to do when growing indoors. The size of your pots you're planting in can restrict the size of the plant... something to consider. Also I'd recommend a method of checking your soil pH throughout the grow - a good one is the accurate 8 soil pH and moisture meter. A good soil for seedlings won't contain a whole lot of nutes but they won't need much in the first few weeks of vegetative growth. Most common deficiencies are nitrogen, calcium and magnesium. The latter two can be corrected with epsom salt. Molassas adds carbohydrates for the myco's (beneficial soil microbes and fungi) which break down the nutrients so they're easier for the roots to absorb.

Yeah, and that's only about half of what ya need to know. ;) But that's why we're here.

Thank you! that helps a ton. this is what i have going. Been three days including germination. About to head to the hydroponic store to get some reflectors for my lights. I've been looking into my specific strains and some reccomend a lower pH balance. I have Dutch Passion Xtreme, and blim burn AK of them calls for a lower pH balance, around 6.1-6.5, does that sound right for some?
