Live Stoner Chat worst night ever.

:yoinks:  :yoinks: Fack a quack!! ....Fweed buddy, that bites wang,... an object lesson in the lesser seen troubles that can happen to a grow-- physical damage! Well, while it's true, she can sustain herself for a little while on reserves, it's no substitute for the bottom half on the plant, and all that it does,... the whole hormone/nutrient/gas exchange highway and feedback loops between root's and tops is FUBAR, which basically means she's dead, just dying more slowly, alas... My opinion, not based on experience or any scientific "study", but what I know about plant physiology: I don't think you can expect significant ripening and terpene/cannabinoid production from here out, and likely past a certain point (a few days or so?), there might be degradation of these most important components... Any additives, like what the florist gives cut flowers to preserve them longer (mainly carb's), will be taken into the plant unregulated, and quite possibly will ruin the bud for smoking,... again, I don't know the specifics behind this, but a plant put into this kind of "panic mode" may do things to try and stay alive, that may seriously compromise what smoke you can get from her,... Mind what brother DP Tony said! She's immature, but hardly undeveloped, and there's plenty of THC in there right now,... so, if it were me, barring any better info forthcoming, I'd let her stay in the vase for a few days to do some sort of cleansing, then harvest her as normal,....meantime keep a real close eye out for mold, and things like sudden loss of aromatics.... I don't know what kind of draw on the water she's capable of now, considering the mass that's being supported,...likely, this will decrease as she slowly shuts down,.... Sorry mate, wish there was more that could be done, but I don't expect any miracle solution to keep her truly physiologically intact and active long enough to finish... she really is already dead.... ...good thing you still have other very nice plants going! Chalk it up to hard lessons learned, and move on! She's not a total loss by any means---

Waira what's up my dude your right lesson learned I can't be upset over spilled milk but best believe every trichome is going to be made into some oil I just can't waste it lol and totally agree I know she won't ripen and finish I'm jus hoping I can keep her in the vase for a few days without getting mold to get some sort of cleanse and let more hairs turn brown ,I'm honestly surprised the leaves are still sticking up lol ill just drop an auto bean to grow in ambient light in my auto space to compensate for the weight lost thanks for the info man I feel a little better hearing it may have some effect still :Sharing One:

Never had to do this with weed (feeling your pain!) but I've always loved cut flowers and you'd be surprised at how much development can continue in a vase, including rooting. There's a lot you can do to extend their life in the vase, which gives you a better chance at the buds finishing a little more.

Cut flower preservative usually amounts to some kind of sugar and some kind of disinfectant. Obviously you're trying to keep these clean, so don't use the packaged cut flower stuff which usually contains bleach. It might be okay to use unfiltered chlorinated tap water, if that's what you've got. I often use filtered drinking water with a very tiny pinch of ascorbic acid (vitamin c--helps keep bacteria down) and a pinch of white cane sugar for the size jar you've got, sometimes a couple of drops of colloidal silver for additional bacteria protection. Not everyone has this stuff on hand, but you can crush a vitamin c tablet (with no fake sweeteners) in a pill crusher and that should be enough for a few water changes. If you don't have these things around, it should be okay to use plain tap water rather than risk contaminating it with weird C tablet additives. Don't add sugar unless you are also adding something to help keep bacteria down. Edit: totally forgot you can also use a few drops of hydrogen peroxide too, which should be fine.

People have already said to cut the stems, and you can do this more than once while they're in the vase to keep the capillaries open. Use the sharpest scissors you've got, and cut them at an angle (preferably with the cut site under running water) to increase the surface area for uptake. If I were in your position I'd probably refresh the cuts and change the water (with any additives you might be using) daily (you don't have to take a lot off, just enough to keep the intake site fresh).

Bacteria itself is not the end of the world, overgrowth is. You just want to keep the water from getting funky. Some light, but not as much as when they were growing on the plant. Keep air circulating obviously.

Hope this is helpful. Good luck to you, sending those beauties some love!

P.S. water should cover about 3-4" of the stems, not sure how long yours are

looks like you have some good advice already after the disaster :peace:

But just to sort of back it up or maybe add confusion to the job

This was one of the lower stems on a plant i have in 4 weeks of 12/12.

I took this cut on the 15th May and just stood it in a egg cup of water. and this is how it still looks. Just as it did when i cut it.

It drinks the water and i top it up.

The other is a clone i took on the same day of one in veg, also still looks the same as it did.
