Ok, so I had one of these fall into my lap today.

Says its a 100W floodlight ( 600w equiv ) with cool daylight 6500k LEDs

So.... useful or not?

Not my first choice but why not give it a whirl. You could probably do a plant under it.just take the glass off the front

I wouldnt consider 6500k warm or ideal for growing, can be done but IMO warm starts about 4500 k and goes down from there. Got any more details on this light?

just take the glass off the front

why is that?

im not planning on using, got 2 rigs i dont have room for already, but curious about no glass on this style rig when all others have glass.

thanks for educating me on this

Even though it has a high claimed wattage I'm sure the efficiency or light per watt is low, any sort of cover/ lense will decrease the light output by a considerable amount whether it's noticeable to the eye or not.

@cobshop.net I got screwin e39 mogul hylite arc cob 5000k 30w bulb, its an xtra from work..... I assume white daylight type..... Can this be used as side lighting or is it a waste of energy and heat in my tent

They are much better than a lot of leds sold today. Not a bad decision.
