This is a 23 day old Pineapple Express in Sunshine Mix [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] and using taNgs "new improved feeding schedule" as i always use with excellent results.! Although this plant looks very healthy it's actually not where it's supposed to be at this stage... I've grew this strain before using the same mix and nutes but never experienced such slow growth as this.! This plant should be well over 12" tall at this point but yet it's only at 5 1/2"... I'm using 2 AutoCobs for this grow, started with one then added a second.! Once the second Autocob was added thats when it started filling out but still staying short... I'm scratching my head on this one. I've either got a bum seed, or was sent a different strain by mistake? Or, it's the low temps and low humidity that's stalling out the growth but I don't think that's the case really because I've did grows before with these kinds of temps... Anyone know what could be causing this slow growth let me know.! Here's a pic

A whole lot of light will keep the plant short. Looks like she has gotten her fair bombardment of photons. This along with different temperatures and climate overall may trigger some certain gene activations in certain strains. Many strains do show various different phenotypes too so its not always the same. Trick is to try to work around those challenges. Looks like a nice plant and believe me, short plant doesn't have to mean a low yield.

How are the temperatures differences between the lights on and light out? How close do you run those autocobs? Couple things you could do is to bring the lights up a lot for a week or so trying to induce a bit more strech to the plant and be certain that during the lights out period the temperatures will be significantly lower.

I have the AutoCobs at 28" started with one and then added the second 8 days ago...! As far as the temps they range from night time temps being to mid to upper 60s and daytime temps range from low 70s to 80s.! So far daytime temps haven't gone over 85... Now the humidity is like really low and i'm talking numbers like 28-40%.! Temps right now in the grow area is 71 and 30%... Its been really dry on the east coast southern states lately but i think thats gonna change in a day or so...

Those numbers seem pretty solid other than the humidity and it being a bit on the chilly side with the night temps. Hmm... Pure speculation from my part but thinking that the humidity is low it would make sense for the plant to retain a tight form to try to hold on to that moisture. Perhaps it would help to simply hang couple of wet towels around until the humidity rises a bit? 40% RH would be very ideal for generative period but not too much for vegging.

Yes, I agree with the low humidity being some kind of factor i'm going to try the wet towel thing and see how that works out... lol I've never run into this kind of small situation before. But i tell you, the smell this small plant is giving off is powerful.! I cant leave the door open no more than a few minutes and its got the whole house smelling.! I had to spray so cheap cologne everywhere the other day

:toke:....constant low RH% may cause transpiration related stress,...if it's been transitory, it may not be the cause either,.... question is, if the node count is close to what the other plant was at this time/age; as Med says, lights are what usually causes shorter internodal distances,....also, seeds are still genetically variable, you may get significant differences from the same strain seed to seed,.... for sure that RH% needs to come up into the 40's at least,....

I put a wet towel in the grow area last night and the RH went from 30% to 43% but it's also 45% outside in the outdoors as well so I don't think the wet towel is what raised the RH... And so, im having a battle with RH it seems.! Looks like im gonna have to buy a freakin humidifier then most likely a dehumidifier because I gave mine away to a family member... lol Smh...

:smoking: worth every dime invested,... show the love mate! .... there is a very good reason RH% and T matter so much, and are so tightly tied together,.. hit this up when you can, the video is a good place to start,... Vapor pressure deficit... this is a kingpin in a plants ability to grow well!
.... yeah, a wet towel can only help so much, volume of tent and size of towel dependent,.. having that towel open with as much surface area exposed is key too,... But when it's shit-show low RH%, even squeaking out an extra 10% can make a big difference! :goodluck:
