Yellow bottom leaves Shorty #2

Just checked on my SuperBox Micro grow. Shorty #2 looked a bit off. She was fed last Saturday with 1/2 strenght Technaflora's Recipe for Sucess (VEG). I watered her yesterday with ph 6.4 water. She's been going well. Should I be worried?

It looks like a cal-mag deficency.Have you given them cal-mag? What is your runoff PH?

Using Technaflora Recipe for Sucess. The Formula has Magical at 2.5ml per gallon. Water going in is ph 6.0 water runoff ph 7.0. I had to lime up the soil a bit to get the ph better. Of the two Short Riders. Shorty #1 seems to have issues. The other Shorty is going like gang busters. Going 1/2 strength on nutrients. When i called Technaflora today they say that I need to go full strenght. I'm not comfortable with that until I figure what's up.

Foliar fed Shorty #1 this AM with 2ml of Magical and .41ml ThriveAlive to 700ml 6.2ph'd water. Shorty #1 has always had issues. Although she was the 1st to "pop" out of the soii; she's never really kept up with Shorty #2. This is the 1st time I've ever grown indoors. I didn't check the ph of the soil when I started them. The Happy Frog was 5.0ph from the bag. So I skratched in a couple Tablespoon of Dolomite lime into the soil. That helped adjust the ph of the soil. On week #3 Veg while I was moving the fan. I dropped the fan on top of Shorty #1. That tore off the small main cola/bud. She's never been the same since. Her are some pics taken this AM of the Campers. Shorty #1 will be 1st; Shorty #2 will be the 2nd pic.

Hey Baylee

I was looking at your replies here and it seems your soil PH is a little out of range if you are feeding at 6 and it's coming out at 7! I've bookmarked this rough PH guide i found i a post from goauto6 and thought it might be useful to you

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

Hope this helps sort that out!

I may of added too much Dolomite lime to #1. How do I bring her ph down to say 6.5? I know I need to do it gradually. I don't want to go out and get anything like sulfer or anthing like that. If I ph the next water/feed to say 5.5 would that help? Your post is a big help!! It's a keeper.:clap:

I've done exactly the same in the past bay! It's potent stuff that lime, and i just bought the powdered stuff and threw clumps of it onto my soil and watered it in lol DOH! never used it since!

If it were my plant, I'd be thinking of watering at a low PH (5ish) and try to get the run off to 5.7 with that .... but don't quote me on that as i didnt find a solution to my problem when i messed up and my plant suffered.
One of the team should set us straight on this soon i imagine ^_^

This indoor growing can be nerve racking. I've really never had a problem with my Outdoor grows. Besides an insect or animal problem. Most of my grows have gone without a hitch. Short #2's ph is the same going in as comming out. I added more lime to Shorty#1 before I checked the ph after it's initial runoff of adding the lime. That's what happens when you do something without your 1st cup of coffee. I checked her soil ph yesterday and it was in the 7.8-8.0 range. She's not going to be watered for another two days. I'm going to take your advise and drop the ph by .5 (5.5) and see how that goes. Of course, unless one of the team has a better solution. She's just going into flower now. I may have a chance to get her back to normal. This Micro grow is really to see what's gonna happen. I let nature takes it's course on the Gurellia grows. Mother Nature was very good to me. Just need to thank you and everyone for your support.

Yep, too much lime. A good flush should help some. Run 3 times the pot size of water through it, pHed to around 6. That's also going to leach out a lot of the nutrients, so the last water you put through it should contain some mild nutes. The lime won't all flush out and will continue to effect the pH, but the flush should help.

WTF it Happend Over Night/ All's Well Now

Thanks Muddy. I flushed her good yesterday; 6 gallons of ph'd 5.5-6.0. I didn't put any nutrients in the last drench. Foliar fed her with 1/4 strenght RfS formula. She seems to be fine. No sign of stress. I've got some Soil Acidfier. Should I add some to the top and scratch it in or just ph the water to 6.0? Also what is the best water/fed ph for the flower cycle? Went to the my local grow shop today. Of course they said Happy Frog is crap. I relaize that I may need to go with a better soil. I still have 1/2 a bag of HF. What can I use to soften it up for the entire run; seedling to finish? I made a big mistake by adding too much lime to #1. That will never happen again! You and all have been a big help.
