Before beginning, best wishes to all for a happy, healthy and safe holiday season and New Year. And a ton of thanks to all for helping during my first three grows.

This is my fourth grow and my third WW grow.

This is a two plant grow, one plant seems to be OK, the other is not. Both are a little slower developing than my previous WW grows

The sick plant is 22 days old.
-Cabinet grow, FFOF/HF/perlite pre-treated with garden lime. 3 gallon pots.
-FD's feeding schedule. Received first Grow Big (3/4tsp) two days ago. pH of nutrient feed was 6.3. Problem was slightly evident before this feeding, now worse. eC runoff was 1325 (Hanna)
-Soil pH is 6.4-6.5 (Accurate 8)

Here are the pics:

Your thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Almost looks like phos def.I would give her a little bloom nute to get her some phos. Also give light dose of cal/mag along with light feed of veg nutes. It will take a few days to see if this helps so hang in there.

Thanks, namvet. Phosphorous is my guess as well but I'm puzzled is it a deficiency or a lockout? I've read that phosphorous "flocculates" (clumps?) with an abundance of calcium. Could this clumping cause phosphorous to be unavailable to the plant?

I'll add some Tiger Bloom to tomorrow's feeding and also try to pick up some bat guano or worm castings.
Thanks again

hey Bayes- ...I'm with Nammy on the P defc.,... your pH looks fine, so no lockout here! As for the P getting flocc'ed (LOL!), I believe that's more of a DWC thing, in nute' soln., not so much in soil,.... besides, the Ca levels would have to be crazy high to cause that.... definitely treat with a full dose of Tiger bloom; worm castings are great, but not a significant P source; for defc. issues, a liquid source will be a generally better, faster acting choice, and be careful with the poops and overdoing it!

Waira (and namvet) --

Thanks so much for the quick response. I was pulling out my hair, what little is left LOL. It just seemed so early for a deficiency, particularly in FF. I was really grasping at straws trying to come up with an off the wall reason. I guess there's a lot of truth to Occam's Razor!

Sorry guys, but I've got to disagree on the P deficiency. What I'm seeing is a more advanced mag deficiency. The discoloration between the veins as well as the up curl along the edges are classic mag. If it were P, I'd expect to see browning at the tips and edges with the space between the veins still green. I would suggest adding some epsom salts to your feeds at the rate of 1 tablespoon per gallon. I would also mix 1 teaspoon of epsom salts to a quart of pH adjusted water and do a foliar spray once a day for 3-4 days, making sure to mist both sides of the leaves.

I was thinking thinking with the mottled irregular spots it looked like phos def but it seemed to early for this. Some times it's a fine line between different problems that make it hard to figure out.Listen to master Muddy on this and I stand corrected on this call.

(LOL! Initially, I thought Waira was a man and quickly discovered I was mistaken. Wait, what, immediately after Muddy's post, says "listen to her" with three arrows I assume pointing to Muddy's post. Could it be Muddy is a woman?? A woman who loves Muddy Waters? That would be unusual and a rare find. I feel like I'm on SNL with androgynous Pat!)

Okay, BEFORE Muddy's post I fed per Waira's suggestion along with .5 tsp of Grow Big and .5 tsp of Big Bloom. (I wanted to avoid a N deficiency following the presumed phosphorous deficiency.)

Everybody who has responded knows a zillion times more than me so I can't and won't disagree with anyone.

Mag deficiency didn't originally seem likely as the soil was well mixed with 1.5 tablespoons of garden lime/gallon, watered in for at least three weeks before planting the seed. This is Soil Doctor stuff which has a hefty(seems to me) amount of magnesium. The plant is also small so demand can't be that much ...

Phosphorous didn't originally seem likely to me because of FF soil and youth of the plant.

Because I don't disagree with EITHER Waira or Muddy (or wait, what), I'm also going to follow Muddy's advice at least as far as foliar spraying for now. Muddy, if you think I should ALSO soil feed in addition to what I fed a few hours ago, please let me know.

pH was fine in terms of runoff (6.52) and eC was 1279.

If she doesn't make it, she doesn't make it. No biggie. But if she doesn't make it and I don't understand why, then I will be disappointed.

I think I'm regressing as a grower, not good.

Again, thanks for your guidance/recommendations.
