Inspired by 420autoflower and his method of growing MONSTER autos I decided to attempt to replicate his technique.
The specs
Gorilla grow 4x8 with high CFM kit
ROI- E680 4x4 LED
Vivosun T6 Inline Duct Fan
Two Vivosun six inch oscillating fans
Cheap Amazon water chiller for nutrient reservoir.
Pump off of Amazon for aeration in the reservoir.
Drip feed irrigation.
Genetics are Mephisto Genetics
Alien vs. Triangle
Feed will be Advanced Nutrients Grow, Micro, and Bloom pH Perfect mix with bud candy to finish off.
Day one - EC is .6 and they are being fertigated at 3:00, 7:00, 12:00, 17:00, and 22:00 for 12 minute intervals.
If I have the light on 100% it raises the temperature in the tent over 80°F, so I either A- have to leave the tent door open, B- Go from using a window AC unit to chill the room temperature and relying on an intake and exhaust and regulate the tent, to an Tent based portable ac unit, leaning to option B as I feel it will be more controlled.
Option C would be run the light at 57-70 percent power but I feel like that’s just leaving yields on the table.
The other quick side bar is this is my first time using Advanced Nutrients PH perfect line, it
“ automatically balances your pH for you — putting it in the “sweet spot” and holding it there for one week.
And the technology is so “smart” that it can account for many of the aforementioned variables in your grow room. Our proprietary pH buffering agents and stabilizing mechanisms became the foundation of a new system aptly called pH Perfect® Technology”
When I put the recommended amount into RO water around six (I normally shoot for 5.8)
But after a few hours in the reservoir without circulating or anything just air stones in it, the pH has risen to 7.1 and that is where it is holding.
This seems extremely high to me, and I called their grower support number and was told “ our product optimizes plant uptake anywhere between 5 - 8, and there is no need to attempt to balance it.
I don’t trust that… but we are going to run it for now and see what happens.
I’m definitely thinking of just switching to a general hydroponics nutrient mix and balancing myself.
That’s all the updates for now
