Indoor Mozzy’s Progeny and GroBucket Water Only Organic Soil Indoor Autoflower Grow

The Plan:
- Roots Organics Lush soil
- 4 x 5 gallon food-safe buckets with GroBucket inserts
- Pawfly 7w 254gph Adjustable Aerator Pump with a 4 Outlet Manifold
- Tap water as needed, but aired-out ~48hrs for chlorine reasons, and PH’d to the mid 6s based on the testing color/using GH drops (for now, may switch to ascorbic acid in the future once I run out of this first bottle).
- Mars Hydro 2x4 Grow Tent - 48''X24''X71''(120X60X180cm)
- Mars Hydro 4 Inch Inline Fan with Thermostat Controller and Carbon Filter
- Mars Hydro SP3000 300w LED
- 18/6 - Likely will start ~35%, 20” from the soil once the seeds pop and I plant them in the buckets (within 24-48 hours?).

The seeds I'm using are all progeny from a tent that had 5 different feminized autoflower strains in it, where one or more hermied from stress (possibly heat/light/underwatered at a critical time, etc...wasn't documented well), genetics, and/or were pollinated by outside contamination.

The harvest from all the plants that these seeds were grown from vaped well, and produced a ton of seeds, so I figured we'd try a run with a few for our first go at using GroBuckets...so here's to hoping we'll just get feminized autos and a successful grow of progeny from the following (GNC, LDZ/Derz, PNG, and SH):

Haven’t used a paper towel method in a while...the last few grows I popped seeds one at a time in just a shot glass of water, in a covered coffee mug, on top of a receiver that was warm, but this seemed to make more sense since I’m trying to get 4 going at once and it is the first time I’ve tried to germinate seeds that I’ve grown:

Subbed - there are two things you're doing that I find very interesting. Water-only and I'd especially like to see how happy you are with the final product of illegitimately-conceived children. I'm crossing some Mephisto autos for seeds and want to know what to hope for. I've grown out progeny of herms before and had good results (and bad results). -but usually good.

Got the tent cleaned up a few days ago, removed the carbon filter for now, and wiped everything down with 91% alcohol; including taking apart the 6” Hurricane clip fans to get all the blades and grills de-gunked...unfortunately one was DOA afterwards and it was less than a year old, so now I need to shop for a replacement. I will look for a different brand, and possibly an oscillating one since I’m forced to get something anyways.

I also prepped and setup everything else, including adding clean pieces of cut-out 100% cotton undershirts as a filter for the holes on top of the GB inserts (which will hopefully limit the debris in the reservoirs that could clog the air stones):

Nobody wanted to play at the same time…had the first 3 seeds pop over a 3-4 day period (LDZ<PNG<GNC):

…and the first one above ground ~36-48 hours after planting it is the PNG:

The SH still hasn't popped and may be too green, but I am giving it a few more days and I added the only other seed from the same 88 day plant to the germination tray, to see if either are viable (this was the only plant in the seeded tent that didn't produce numerous seeds, so who knows).

Tent temps/RH with the lights on are high 70s/mid-low 50s%..and now we wait some more:

No, the soil from the last grow got chopped up and added to outside areas as it is not viable:

The two random SH seeds never germinated (after 7 days for the oldest), so I germinated 1 original SH (OSH) in a shot glass, in a coffee cup, covered, on a warm receiver, until it popped (<24hrs) and then I planted it (because I wanted some)...so here we are at days 6, 4, 7 and 1 (GNC, LDZ, PNG, and OSH) after breaking ground:

I took the plastic containers I’m using for humidity domes off the LDZ and OSH for the picture, but put them back on for another day or so until their first true leaves are a little bigger than their cotyledon (already removed the domes from the GNC and PNG within the past few days). I also decided to add unsulfured molasses to my 2 gallon sprayer (~15ml/gallon) and top-watered the outer-rim areas with a cup or two a piece to help feed some microbes in the soil hopefully... .

Days 15, 13, 16 and 10 (GNC, LDZ, PNG, and OSH) above ground; and these guys are running a little small…likely due to one or more of the following:

• Temps are high 70s to low 80s F, with RH in the low-mid 50s% (though I put a humidifier outside the tent near the intake this week and we’re getting closer to 60%, especially with lights out, but a little late).
• DLI has been ~18-22 based on 18/6, public PPFD numbers for the light (dimmer % x 1000, @ 19.5", in the center), and math; which was probably a little high for everyone’s first week.
• Likely over-watered by top-watering in large circles a few times previously, against some better judgment, because it was so dry on top.

Other than being on the small side and/or a little stunted at this point, things are simply progressing:

Days 25, 23, 26 and 20 (GNC, LDZ, PNG, and OSH)...haven’t been able to tend to these guys for a while due to family things, but fortunately the GroBuckets did their job and kept them from dying of thirst.

Plant heights currently range ~2”-7” and the 23 day 2” LDZ I am going to just see what happens since I don’t want to start another plant a month behind the other three, as I believe the tent is going to get full regardless; it shouldn’t put me in a deficit for flower, and the LDZ is the one that produced the most seeds (and was likely a hermie and/or the pollinator, if that tent was not contaminated from the outside or overstressed).

Things have likely been about the same with temps high 70s to low 80s F, and RH in the low-mid 50s%. Turned up the 6 inch clip fan to high and also bumped up an AC Infinity S6 oscillating that replaced the other Hurricane that crapped out. I also raised the light 5-6” today to keep it 19.5” from the tallest, and increased the dimmer to ~45%, so the DLI should be ~29 now for the 7” one near the center :
