Do you mean 200 actual watts or equivalent? Makes a major difference. A 200 watt CFL (actual watts) put out about 10,000 lumens average cost $55-60.00 USD for the bulb alone. 400 watt HPS about 35,000 lumens cost avg for the lower end around $150.00 for a kit. Price being comparable and even outputs close I think I would prefer the HPS.
1.2mx1.2m may be a bit tight for 10 plants, depends on how you put it all together. I don't think given what you seem to be putting together that 400 watts will be enough. 2-3 plants would prolly work out ok though...
