Hi all, I am new to this forum and am looking for any advice/insight on peoples previous experience. I'm giving the Advanced Nutrients full line a try due to some people swearing by it. My plants have recently grown up through the scrog and I am bending the main branches over and tying them down with bread ties. I've tried some autos out before and was pulling at most an ounce per plant when dry. The reason I wanted to try Think Different was because I saw someones journal with a similar set up to mine that was pulling 5lbs dry every run. In the beginning I had issues which I believe were caused by not using fulvic acid and a calmag nutrient. Now that the plants are growing up through and attached to the scrog I really don't have a way to empty my buckets. My questions could go on for days on what would be the perfect way to do this so again, looking for other peoples previous experience with DWC, SCROG, with auto strands. Will try to get some pics posted of start to where I currently am now. I read something about PPM only should be 400-500...I sure hope this is not the case because the last nute batch I mixed up was about 2400 PPM, hopefully I don't kill everything. I am more of an beginner for sure but I have a decent set up which is as follows. Grow Tent 120x60x78, Two "Big Daddy" reflectors each with 1000watt digital dimmable ballasts, 20lb C02 tank with timer, 12k btu air conditoner that I have hooked up to lights to cool. 12 5 gallon buckets all hooked up to commercial air pump with air running 24 hours. run my lights 18 on 6 off. Cools down at night to mid to high 60 degrees farenheit. day temps are 84 to 85. I hooked ducting from the 12k btu portable air conditioner and have it set at 64 on full blast running 24 hours a day. I don't really have a way to see my roots with what Im working with. Thank you in advance for anybodies expertise and advice. I think it will only let me post 5 pics at a time so the first 5 are before I switched over from the 39k Lumen 8 bulb T5...Should I have even used the T5 and just started at the 600W setting of my HPS lights? How can I best utilize the set up that I have or is there a better way...I put up more updated pics and also some pics from today on Thanksgiving of where the nutrient solution is as far as ph, ppm etc.

More Pics

These are picks from today, day 46 from when the seeds first cracked when i soaked them in water. Majority of the seeds popped after 24 hours of soaking. A couple of the plants still seem to be not performing as good as the others. Any advice on this set up would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome brother :)
Im new to RDWC, just about to start my first grow.

Ive done 3 soil grows and had great results with the Advanced Nutrients.
I was warned though that there not suited to RDWC.

You have a killer looking set up there :)
Im subbed, all the best and please keep the pictures and updates coming.
Looks to me like your doing a great job.

Best of luck :welcome:

Thanks man. Def my firsy try going this route. Have done some soil in the past, ebb and grow, flood and drain tables...my first try at this paticular set up with "Think Different" Ive read great things about this strand and will be looking to try others as well.

Yea man TD is lovely ! Im a big Dutch Passion fan.
I did a couple of TD plants on my last grow. A stunning sweet smoke for sure.

Check out there autoultimate if you want to see some buds... Oh my thats some plant !!!

I read something about PPM only should be 400-500...I sure hope this is not the case because the last nute batch I mixed up was about 2400 PPM, hopefully I don't kill everything.

That is WAYYYYYYY to high!, Maxing out a dwc system depending on strain is like 750 to 800 MAX in late flower, most strains don't even need to go that high.

Normally high end of veg your only around that 500 ppm range.

Also nice setup

I can see in one of your pics, some dark leaves of clawing under on them, sign of Nitrogen toxicity

Also if that is a true reading of 2400 PPM! You need to drain that system with a quickness, i would recommend filling it back up with plain water and cal mag run that for 6 hours.. Drain again.... Refile system and set the ppms to around 400....

Wait 12 hours and see where its at.......

If you initailly set it to 400 PPM and 12 hours later its 450 PPM... that tells you the plants are drinking more water then nutes... back it down...

If you set it to 400 PPM and 12 hours later its at 350PPM... that tells you the plants are drinking more nutes then water... so you adjust accordingly.

Hope this helps

Really appreciate the advice @lykaboss. I am def going to do like you said. Im also going to grab some calibration fluid for my meter as I did go with an off brand that was 1/3 the price of some of the other multi meters. As far as the sign of notrogen toxicity. Should doing what you told me help with that problem or is there a quick fix for that? Also, each bucket is its own closed system. Is there an easy way to have these buckets hooked up to a commom reservoir and to be able to drain and fill all at once? I had an ebb and grow system before but I wasnt a fan at all. Again, thank you very much for your informatiom as it is greatly appreciated.

Normally i would just say change out the nutes, but if that reading is actually 2400... you could be burning and damaging the roots... so you will need to flush that highly concentrated solution from the system and the roots. So yes flushing it out with just plain water and cal mag at about 100 ppm's will sort it out. Then once you back it down to a reasonable lvl say around that 400 ppm range... you should be fine. You might need to adjust it up or down depending..... There is a way to hook them all together but then your getting into a RDWC setup, which is a bit advanced. Not hard to use... hard to build for a first timer. THat is ALOT of single buckets to manage. Take a look at my grow log i grow in 20 gallon DWC buckets.
