Hi there, thanks for having me. I'm nearing the end of my first auto grow. I'm at week 9 and I don't see a lot on my plants at the moment. My question is how much do autos beef up the last 2 or three weeks on average. I have some candy cane and northern lights from Cropking seeds. I read a much as I could about auto growing and followed as closely as possible the basics of growing them. 18-6 light half nuts etc. They are nice and healthy green, short of course but not much on them compared with pics I've seen on the Web. Will they thicken up over the next couple weeks? Thanks for any advice coming. Vic.

Just wanted to pop by and say welcome to afn! hopefully we can help ya out!
Plants definitely swell a bit in the last few weeks of flower, however I've not grown either of those personally, and without knowing a typical finish time for them, I hesitate to predict too much. It would help to know how they have been grown, lights, soil or hydro, container size (a big one) etc., basically any details that might help determine if it's been growing as fast as it could be. If it's in less than optimal conditions it could be a bit before it's done and you have time to feed some bud boosters. If on the other hand you've been rocking it then it just might be close to the limit for that strain's size. I see Crop King are claiming 7 and 9 week finish times which seems really short for the average grower, in soil for example, unless they really are true dwarf strains.

Is there any way we could get some pictures of your ladies?

Thanks for replying. Pro mix 2 part Dutch nutes at 1/4 then 1/2 strength. Last 2 feeds at full strength. 3 gallon pots under 600 watt mh and then hps once flowering started. They look healthy but they must be close as lower leaves are starting to yellow. They just look thin on bud so wondered if they are sick somehow or weather autos fatten up considerable the last couple weeks. This is how they all look. For some reason the pic is sideways. They are all about 30" tall give or take. They look like they were short of light but they have lots including fluorescent to fill any dark spots

Got home from work and found this yellowing. Quite a bit worse than 24hrs ago. Normal for auto or maybe nitrogen Def. .?

I believe there hungry by the looks of them leaves or there's a pH lockout possibly n def

Thanks I'll get another pH meter and try some N tonight. I'll give them full strength Dutch nute grow for one feed and see what happens. Not sure if I'll do autos again if these don't fatten up some. I've had lots of photo grows without these kind of issues. Not a very forgiving plant unfortunately. Thanks for the advice it's appreciated. Hope i can salvage them. Vic.

Stems are red too on the leaves in the pic. That still plays into the N def issue right? Thanks. Vic

Possibly but also depends upon genetics some have red stems naturally I always thought the red appears when the plant starts cannibalising itself especially on a lot of plants iv grown but as for fattening up I hope they do too mate just don't expect lots of weight and you won't be too disapointed . don't give up though try blueberry cheese auto from big budda they fatten up man beautiful buds like the one in my picture homegrown :) good luck @Vic hope to see some tight colas real soon! Until then... I'll be watching :coffee2:

Vic-- I'd say it's been a longer term underfeeding, from the looks of them.. one thing I dislike about the Dutch nute line-- no goddamn info on the NPK #'s,..or at least, that I could see,... they don't look as far along as they should be for this age either,...buds look young, but at least they have time to build up! As mentioned, yes, the last couple weeks often sees a big fattening up, if the nute's are there,... Those lower fans are getting tapped out for spare nute's, N mostly from the looks of it,...it can happen fast, as demand for nute's is picking up to build those buds,.... BTW, HPS lighting is lousy for diagnostics; reading the colors and symptom signs is critical for this, so take'm in normal lighting next time please!....If the leaf tips show no sign of yellow/brown, then the full str. nute's are being tolerated so far, just keep an eye out for this, and ease off the conc. if this starts to show,... petiole color can be a sign of P defc., but it's common for it to appear for other reasons too, so I don't find it to be of much diagnostic value,...
