Grow Mediums 1st coco grow with RQ

hello all

This will be my 1st grow in coco.Purchased coco from biobizz coco mix,nutes are canna coco a-b,hy pro root simulator.I am still thinking on flower boost-s.

The setup is 150W HPS with cooltube and carbon filter.Pictures will follow soon.I have a dripping system which is not automatic,and it kind of bothers me.

This coco fascinates me but i have a few questions regarding calcium and magnesium.The Canna coco a and b have 5% calcium and 2 % magnesium.Since i will be using it trough the whole grow,do i have to add extra calmag ? Biobizz coco also has some other microelements in it,but not calmag.

My ec pen will arrive later this week,then i will measure my tap water and let you know the reading.

good luck pal. My efforts into coco were poor. You will need the ph pen and cal/mag is a must. More so if you are using a LED. Which you aren't. Also, never too late to do an intro, hint hint.

Oh,i almost forgot ) There are 3 plants,they all showed up from coco today,so they are 1 day old. 1 x royal bluematic and 2 x royal dwarf.

Cool another coco dripper!! To help answer ur question yeah u need more calmag for most strains.. to be on the safe side get a bottle of it. Also get urself a digital timer so u can automate the feedings! I usually handwater first 3 weeks every other day in a 1 gallon pot.. after that 3x/day and bump it up in heavy flower to 6x/day. Had amazing results on my first grow dripping, biggest plant i grew and also the easiest.

What size pot u using and what your plans as far as drainage?

Jayar,i plan hand watering untill the roots are well esatblished.Hopefully by then i will get a timer and feed more times per day.I read a lot about this method,that is why i choose 6 L airpots. The excess water and nutrients will flow into trays which i will use to water my other plants in the house....like 80 different house plants (hobby)

I plan on feeding the plants for the first time with hy pro root stimulator and canna at 1\4 strenght,do you recommend calmag?
