First, much respect to everyone on the site! I was a LONG time lurker but now it's time to grow my own bud with the knowledge I've gained from everyone on AF! Wish me luck!

So, this is my first grow. I'm going to document nearly everything I do so I can improve my techniques. Before we begin, I want to say RIP to the Purple Kush auto and Fast Girl seeds that I killed. Bad soil, too anxious, and lack of experience really hurt me early on but I learned to slow down, relax, and let the ganja do its thing.

I'm growing Berry Ryder:

Auto Seeds Berry Ryder Autoflowering is an original Blueberry and Auto #1 cross. This strain was achieved by selecting the best parent from over 25 possibilities of the original cup winning Blueberry. Both extremely resinous and exuding a rich, sweet, berry aroma, the resulting indica dominant auto produces fat indica leaves and dense nuggety buds. Berry Ryder is our latest super auto which easily competes with non-autoflowering strains in terms of flavour, resin production and THC content. The plant stays short at approximately 30-60cm in soil though can get larger in hydroponic or similar setups. The Blueberry genes add increased yield potential whilst maintaining the strong medical effect and legendary berry taste. The plant can turn blue especially under colder night time temperatures which it can cope with easily. Ready in as little as 60 days.

3 x Feminized Autoflowering Cannabis Seeds
Also available in packs of 5
Type: Indica/Sativa/Ruderalis
Height: 30cm-70cm
Harvest: 60-65 days from seed
Stone: Indica up high
THC: Medium/High

So I ordered these seeds from ATTITUDE Seedbank and germinated them by placing them in a cup of water for 24hrs and then placing them in a moist paper towel for 48hrs.

The tap root was at least 2 inches on two of the sees and the third was just opening. I decided to dump the slow starter and move forward with just two seeds. I previously tried soil and failed so I decided to go with a DWC setup.

I found a decent growbox on eBay for $140 so I bought it and started upgrading the box. Here is what I got:

Stealth Hydroponic Grow Box

MODs:

First thing I did was dump the nutrients and got Fox Farm Liquid nutrient trio.

Next, I dumped the small air-stone and got a 12inch air-stone from Walmart.

Then, I got the light clamps and a light timer from Home Depot.

SCHEDULE:

I keep the Ph low so the plants absorb the maximum amount of light and nutrients.

You just learned the MOST important lesson I learned when I first started up back 10+months ago: patience. You got to let your ladies tell you what they need and I found out looking at them 20 times a day wasn't making them grow any quicker.ll I've lost a couple of very expensive beans doing the same stupid ass mistakes.... Growing canna has not only supplied me with my meds and kept my money and me off the streets... Joining AFN and growing also taught me patience and am in the process of learning better social skills.l. Lol unless people have known me for a bit, I can come across as intimidating or a snot bag when that's anything but the truth...
Your set up sounds solidly. Did you get or all ready have a ph meter? If not and your doing hydro you need one like yesterday! And balls to the wall for first grow using hydro... looking GREAT!

Thank you Yodabuds! Yes, I have a ph meter and a ppm meter in the grow box. I think patience, even with autos is the most important lesson I've learned so far. Also, less is truly more when it comes to nutrients. It's only approaching week 3 but I saw explosive growth after changing the light cycle. As new sprouts, I had likes on 24 hours but as soon as they got the second set of leaves, I went to 18/6. This strain needs a rest period to grow and she surprises me daily! Also, the grow medium under the perlite is rockwool, which was soaked in ph 5.0 water for 2 hours. Temperature has been a small issue in the box but a few office desk fans from Office Depot are on the way. I think I'll mount a track on the left side of the box so I can adjust the breeze.

I'm gonna attach a video as well.

The start of Week 3! Fresh reservoir change, letting the water oxygenate for a few hours before I add nutes.

These girls have doubled in growth this week. Big healthy leaves. I saw a few tiny dots on the second plant yesterday but I'm not too worried.

I'm thinking it could be a little heat stress as well as a nutrient deficiency but tonight is feeding night. I'll hit the girls with some fresh pH 5.8 water, fox farm nutrients and Epsom salt.

I also need names for the two girls! I think I'll let the forum pick that out lol.

I too am growing berry ryder and I'm right at the 4 week marktw. I have Russian rocket fuel and bubble licious in the same room berry ryder and rocket fuel are over a foot tall with 2 inch or less between nodes. Barry and rocket are both out growing bubblelicious. my last grow bubble give me three ounces in72days. berry and rocket are on track to produce better than that. I always DWC. and use general hydroponics. looking forward to compare notes. I'm new to AFN.

I hope I get a serious height jump then because I'm at 3 weeks now and we are still super small. My one regret on this grow is not using a root stimulator from beginning to end. It's still early though. I hit them with the reservoir change along with planned nutes and Epson salt. They look great! Getting bushy in the pot lol!

I am trying to figure out how to post a pic of my Berry girl. found out last night Russian rocket fuel feminized I was a male. sensimilia only for this guy. going to put a nother Berry in water tonight. I also have 3 clones from a failed caramel cream auto that are almost harvestable. I have to figure out how to post these things.

After more experience, I'd love to clone a auto. Yeah post up those pics :-) budporn

I've heard A LOT of positive reviews on Russian Rocket Fuel. Some say it smells like cat piss and I'm considering a run.

Week 3, day 2!

I'm still seeing a few spots and curling leaves but overall...it's still a great plant. Lots of new growth since the reservoir change.

image-3134646506.jpg

They are still small but they are bushy. I think it's time to add the socket extender and splitter so I can have 2 CFLs on each plant.

I think lighting is what's holding my girls back from explosive growth.

I'm gonna use mixed spectrums on the ladies until week 5.

From week 5 til harvest, I'll use (2) 2700k CFLs to finish.

Well, that's it. I have a small nute add tomorrow so hopefully they respond well.

Peace.
