New Grower 1st Grow..Here We Go!

AHHH I dont know why this is happening but its freaking me out...sooo there is like this blue coating on the underneath of my hood and I just realized that it has been coming off and sticking/burning to the clear part thats surrounding the light..WHY? I feel like this hood is crap...IS that blue stuff necessary on the hood...I have no clue what to do..Is this dangerous?? Please help me..."High Team Help Me"

Yes that's very dangerous; that's a film put on to help protect the metal from scratches and usually contains a very thin lubricant to prevent rusting in case it sits in a warehouse for a length of time. You're supposed to take it off and discard it before you operate the unit!!!

TURN OFF THE LIGHTS IMMEDIATELY AND TAKE IT OFF! IN THE PICTURE IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S MELTING!!!

That's a major fire hazard!

DAMN! That is crazy. Of course I read your post son when I wasn't home..had to stop everything and go shut that down..I feel so stupid..I had no idea whether to leave that film/coating/whatever on or off..I noticed it coming off a tad from that start but at the same time most was securely on there so I just went with it staying there, thinking it should...I apparently had that all wrong. Well all is good. No fire . I am going to give the girls a few hour break b/c the lights have been rolling on going..I'll take all that off and have light up and going again soon. Thanks for the response. This whole thing is really consuming my life.. All for the good but lordyyyy it can be a lot for a first timer on her own..

Apparently I am not the only one whose left that on..Just saw a few posts about it on grasscity..a little relieved

It has been a real pain trying to get every little piece off...Some spots just want to stick..I got the majority of it off..and am running the fan through the hood so I think everything will be fine..

On a better note should be getting better reflection now from the hood...dang that was craziness

Started the Nutes like 2 days ago. Possibly through girls off b/c I had to shut the light down and deal with that blue film situation shortly after. But they all seem to be doing good..There's a little bit of yellowish tint through out some and a few have the leaves slightly curved under..Nute Burn?? I am think those things might be related to that. The temps aren't very high. I went with the General Organics Go box and added everything it suggested including the ones that are optional. I went 1/2 strength with recommended doses..
Probably should have went 1/4 strength but they just seem a little behind so I went ahead with 1/2. They will be fine. I will probably just hold off on nutes again for another few days and possibly water in between the next feed.

Do you all do that? like just feed with a plain Phd water in between nutes?

They all look to be getting bigger by the day. Even the runt now, which I am super excited about. Just kinda wondering how this will go come flowering time, b/c it looks like a few will be ready to switch over before others. Well all is good here. I feel like I am now finally on the right track with everything with the exception of low humidity. I am mostly nervous about humidity come harvest b/c I don't want them to dry out too quick but it looks like you dry in the dark?? And whenever I turn the lights off, the humidity shoots up to high 30s/40s..SOO i think all should be fine with that as well. I am just so anxious to see what these girls are gonna do. Can't wait to start seeing buds :coffee2:

Everyone enjoy their Sunday! I'll post new pics of the girls soon! "AFN smoke out"

Have you been able to increase your humidity levels yet? I'm a first timer myself and was having problems getting the humidity higher and I went to the local hardware store and purchased a cool air humidifier and a hot vaporizer just so the temperature wouldn't increase too much from the steam. It increased it over 20% in a 4x8 room. I'm interested in dinafem seeds so I'm anxious to see how yours do. Good luck

Hey NeedtoKnow..So I've got 5 Sweet Seed Cream Caramels going..Both freebies I got were DinaFems and neither sprouted :dunno:
Kinda bummed b/c I was hoping to have a little variety with smoke but none the less I was and am more interested in these CCs.
Maybe I just got a bad batch of DinaFems?!? Who knows..at least they were the freebies

I have not got my humidity raised..It usually sticks in the low 20's ..Really shitty, I have tried all the DIY and none have made a difference. I don't really have any extra money to invest in a humidifier so I am just hoping for the best regardless of low humidity.

SO this would be DAY 26 from sprouts..As you can see, all growing at different speeds. Don't know if that is good or bad but all are growing so I am just happy for that.
Temps are mid to high 80's..Humidity low 20's
I feel like these are going to go longer then seed bank says. I am okay with that to a certain extent. Just know its going to be getting warmer and was hoping to have this wrapped up before the heat comes..We shall see..My guess is mid May..

I started them on nutes a week ago and went 1/2 strength. Definitely should have went 1/4 strength. I think the dose may have messed with them a bit. There is yellow through the leaves. Maybe going to wait another day or two before more nutes and will probably just go 1/4 strength then back up to 1/2 strength..

Well here are a few pics..Lemme know watcha think! "AFN smoke out"

Here are some more pics of how the girls are looking..I have fed twice so far. The 2 that are the biggest I fed 1/2 strength and then the other 3 I went with 1/4 strength. Really confused on why they are all growing at such different speeds. They are all the same strand..

2 seem to be coming along pretty normally as they should...another 2 are growing in height but not really producing many leaves..then the runt is really not growing much at all. I feel like I am noticing a tiny bit of growth on her but compared to the others barely anything has happened with her..

I also noticed the texture of the leaves of the 3 that are not up to par with the other 2 is different..also slight purple tint in some of the branches..Not really sure whats going on with this...

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
