Hey guys.
My first seedling sprouted, but I'm a bit worries about the yellow colour of the cotyledons.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Any ideas on causes?
Will it be ok?
is the first set of leaves visable yet? if so what colour are they, If green you should be good
looks like you have used too much water
your not using nutes yet I hope?
if you want a simple way to plant seeds without too much stuffing around, I first soak my seeds in water 12-18 hours, then I plant them straight into my coco/soil and they break ground within 2-3 days, no messing around with tap roots or replanting, never failed me
So I drained off the excess water last night, and when I checked them again I was greeted by two new seedlings this morning. The one with the yellow tips looks like it's going to die. The tips had dried off, and even a whole cotyledon on one side fell off. The true leaves are tiny and a bit yellow, but I'll keep it as it is just to see what happens. The other 2 are looking good with nice healthy leaves showing.
Is it normal for the cotyledons to turn down like that?
Now you can compare the progress of the yellow 1 with the others and decide whether to pull her or not personally I'd give her a week at least unless it was totally obvious before that that she wasn't gonna pull through.. good luck with it bro
Yep, get them into your final pots because the tap root will be out of those pellets in less than 3 days. I have used those in the past and it doesn't take long at all. And yes, it is normal for those leafs to droop a bit. They need high humidity right now, ~70% range because the root system isn't developed and the main way they take up water is through the stomata on their leaves.
