Hi everyone! So I'm starting my journal since I've planted three seeds. Since I'm a noob I decided to do 3 different germination methods to see which I preferred.

1.) Sour Crack- Germinated by letting it soak in water just until it sunk, then sowed seed in 100% coco (CocoTek)

2.) Fantasmo Express- Germinated using the paper towel method. Took just over 24 hours, planted in same coco medium.

3.) Crackberry Photoperiod- Sowed seed directly in medium same as above.

They will be growing in a 3.5x3.5x6.5 GBox grow tent under 2 300w GalaxyHydro Led's (270 true watts), in 2 gallon smart pots. I will be using Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Coco Grow A and B, and VooDoo Juice. I plan on purchasing GH CaliMagic or similar supplement as well as a silica supplement for foliar feedings when I get paid again.

I will update again when I've sprouted.

I do have a question about the pH Perfect Coco nute's though, which I shot Jayar a message about, but maybe someone else that uses these nute's knows the answer. I mixed up a liter of a & b just to test the pH level since that is the recommended dose of 1ml/L for seedlings using my pH meter. My tap water is 7.7 pH, 160 ppm. It only dropped my pH to 6.7. My question is do I just roll with that, since what I've read is that it's all chelated to absorb at a range of pH, or should I drop pH of the water slightly using pH down to hit the sweet spot? I pH'd bottled water which was 7.2, and also distilled which was no better at 7.7. RO is not an option because I'm renting and by no means have the extra cash to buy a system like that.

Thanks for the help, I know I will need it! LOL

Good luck. I have no experience in coco or those nutes, sorry I can't answer anything about them. I'll be watching your grow. Sour Crack is a great and favorite strain.

Just a quick update. The Crackberry Photoperiod has shown her face, cotelydrons showing, with 2 nubs of true leaves developing. The Sour Crack and Fantasmo have yet to break through the surface but I'm hoping and praying to see them pop through late tonight or tomorrow morning. Super paranoid this being my first grow lol. I was surprised that the photoperiod popped through first since 1.) it's a photo, and I figured the autos would show 1st, 2.) it was the seed I planted directly not using the soak, or paper towel method.

I'm also thinking that when I get paid to going with the Canna line now that I've done some further research. Can anyone tell me some "must haves" to grow some Coco Monsters :vibe:

Here are some pics of the Crackberry "cracking" the surface lol. She's itty bitty, but I've literally watched her pop out and turn up with my incessant checking on her lol.

Bad news today. So during further investigation of my Sour Crack & Fantasmo Express that hadn't broke the top soil I realized that the Cotyledons on the Sour C were all white and mushy under the coco. Had about an inch and a half taproot. I pulled her and laid her to rest this morning. Similar incident with the Fantasmo. I was over watering I'm guessing. My Crackberry seedling is going strong though! I've got another Fantasmo germinating and have planted 2 Sour C directly into coco. This time I will just be watering 10ml of ph'd water at a time when I feel the medium has dried. I'm hoping that this method will do 2 things, ensure I'm not over watering, and create a nice long taproot chasing the water down.

If I'm thinking wrongly here or if anyone has any solid advise I'm all ears. Really don't want to mess up anymore seeds :(

Glad to hear you decided to give growing a try.:slap:
Sorry to hear about the losses so early on.
I'd like to offer an alternative method for germinating seeds.
This method has served me well over the years.

I'm subbed up and will be following your progress:pass:

Very interested in the Crackberry:drool:

Hey bro just shot u a message! Sorry for the late reply!! I have a Lil tip.. after moistening up the coir and planting the seed, put a plastic cup over it. That keeps it moist all day and humidity high.

Subbed up man. Crack berry sounds bomb!!

Yeah I replanted 2 Sour C's, and another Crackberry. I also have another Fantasmo germinating. I'm not put off in the least guys! I'm 100% committed to growing bad ass plants.

Right now I have a 1 gal freezer Ziploc bag over my freshly planted sour c pot as a propagator. I had anticipated some failures lol. I really think I was just over watering hardcore. Lesson learned!
