Btw, I also plan on shutting the cobs off for the last 2-3 days of flush. I have a feeling the small 1/2 gal containers will make the plants yellow faster than normal..another reason I opted to reduce the strength at beginning of the flush, instead of going straight water right away. I will take pics in 1 week, on harvest day. Super impressed with how these did. The main Colas are big, Frosty and dense. All of the side buds bulked up nicely. I will see how much the side buds yield, they are nice...but my plan for the 6 Sour Cracks is to totally lollipop them each. Single Cola stlye. I have grown Sour Crack before. You can get a branchy/taller pheno. I have plenty of space, but I kinda just want to see what happens when I force them all To be single cola. Just like I wanted to see what these 1/2 gal could do to restrict plant size for me. My experiment worked perfectly, and I am confident in the near future you will see some nice yields out of the 1/2 gal pots!
These plants almost grew themselves, just keep the rez filled as needed. There is only 1 problem with this small of a set up. Using 1/2 gal pots, they will dry out or flood much faster than a 2gal pot obviously. If anyone wants to try automating 1/2 gal pots of Coco, never let the pots dry out. Adjust flow/flood times to keep moist always, never attempt to have a dry pot. Moist, with minimal runoff is ideal. Salts build, roots die quickly, and plants fan leaves can droop/dry out if you let the pots dry out, even just ONCE. ALWAYS have flow valves before each pot to adjust flow if needed. I prefer 4-6 on/off cycles, with shorter flood times. This ensures the pot stays moist and reduces risk of excessive runoff. However, if you have a flood tray that sheds the runoff water...you do not need to worry about runoff and can adjust flow up if desired.
