Hi all.
Hope everyone is doing well. I have some questions on my Tangerine Dream auto and wanted to get some impressions/ opinions from the community. So, I'm at day 23 using a kelp/ ph water mix atm. She seems to be getting a pretty good stalk and is leafing great ( see photos ) but I was wondering when I should start switching to full nutes., defoliating/ trimming or LST training ? Also, should I do anything about the lower growths coming out ?

Thanks all.

I'll go full nutes.
If you haven’t been giving nutrients at all up to this point, I would start with half strength, see how she does, and if things go well, then 3/4 , then full strength. You have to ease into it a bit. Ideally, you would begin with 1/4 strength around day 12 or so, and work up from there.

Feed them well and otherwise let them grow. The bottom leaves will take care of themselves, likely die sooner or later. Simply pull any of these or other leaves that look to be dying. I'd start LST, likely just bending them over, in a few days; and consider topping.

If I knew how I would but like @Frankthe tank said, learn the basics before I try more advanced skills. But I can/ will start the LST in the next couple of days. How do you know when to top and where do/ would you cut ? I wouldn't mind learning.

Thanks Bll

There are lots of tutorials, articles, videos, etc. about topping. For ex., just enter "how top cannabis plant" in any search engine. Or perhaps best, just search AFN.

As I recall, wait until about the 5th node, set of leaves. From there, cut a top portion, such as 2/3rds, off of the main stem's apical bud, while others remove more, even the whole top stem (edging into mainlining?). As long as done cleanly, I don't think it's all that critical how much is removed (but others get precise about how they operate on the apical bud/stem). By removing top-most apical bud tissue you stress the plant and cause redistribution of auxins (growth hormones) to other parts of the plant (with working apical buds), often leading to more rapid growth of these other stems.
