What about covering the seedling when it pops out of the soil is this recommended. and what should be the distance of my light to seedling 24 inch from seedling is good ?

also i know that when it have its second set of leafs i start 20-4 light schedule.currently 24-0

The further down you plant. The more work the tap and foliate have to do to break surface. If too far they can die trying. But typically just takes them a bit longer.

I usually run my autos 24-0
Unless i have a photo flowering. So 20-4 wont hurt either. Some need that extra 4 hours of light for heat and climate control. Some need that time off for power costs and heat control for high temps.
18-6 is fine too. One of the glorious things of autos. Just about any light cycle will get you there.

But i believe the most efficient is work down from 24 to 18-6 during flower..
Have not tested my self but i know a lot of folks do this.

@JanjaSmugglin , as you can tell, there are a lot of methods to pop a bean The main thing at this point is patience (and keeping your soil moist, but not soaking wet).
I usually soak my beans for 18/24 hours, then put then about 1/4" deep in the soil. Even the I have a 3 to 5 day wait until they break surface.
If you have a clear cup or tupperware, you can use that as a cover to minimize surface drying

Interesting, maybe we should do a poll one day for what people use to make their initial hole. I favor a Phillips head screwdriver.

I think I might go with 24-0 but do u think it's safe to run the lights 24-0 for 2 month or can I have 1 hours dark ??
