Hey all,
So I've been accumulating items over the course of a month and have finally been able to start my grow! This was a mid-budget set up that I rigged up in a closet. I'm writing this as journal as a guide so to speak, because I searched for a long time for a guide that was pretty similar to my budget and requirements to no avail. Lots of similar ones, but I figured I save some future people the trouble of the research!
Set-Up
Nutes (Following Wg's Grow @ Lowes nute schedule)
I mixed Fox Farms Ocean Forest with perlite in a 3:1 ratio. Before I planted the seeds, I soaked the soil with pH'd water (~6) and put it under the hood for 24 hours to warm it up. I picked 3 gallon buckets to help limit growth of larger plants to stay in my tent size. I will LST appropriately when the time comes if things get too tight. I chose the strain I did for the height, type of high, and ease of growth for a beginner. Plus, they gave me a freebie 10 mixed seeds! It took about 3 weeks for the seeds to come in the mail from Nirvana Shop in the Netherlands.
12/2/14 - Planted two of the Short Rider autofems in the pre-warmed, pre-soaked soil. I wanted to go with the direct germination in it's final container because I wanted to reduce the chance of stress this fast strain out through transplantation. Also, I'm not to keen of the paper towel method after a failed attempt to do that with a lima bean in first grade... :Woopsadaisy: Anyway... Covered the buckets in saran wrap to raise humidity. Fingers crossed for a good germination :Ohmmm.......:
I'll keep you all filled in with anything as it changes!
