Hey all,
Looking for some advise on low stress training for autoflowers. I am at week 2 and have never done low stress training before but this grow i am doing just one plant and trying to concentrate on getting the best yield i can from my plant. I am growing using 300 watt CFL and the plant is coming along nicely as did my previous 2 grows. (yield was only okay previous grows about 3/4 oz to 1oz per plant). My question is can i low stress train an auto and does it really make a difference to the yield. Any advice on low stressing would be great.
Thanks....

im a bit of a neewb but from what ive read stressing autos of any sort is not recommended as they almost have a set veg cycle which you have to make the most out of

Start early and don't try to tie it all down at once. In the end, you want to try to keep your canopy as even as possible. And yes, it makes a world of difference. It allows you to keep the lights as low to the plant as possible so your lower buds can grow.

Wow - that turned out nicely, a420er!
That main cola is unbelievable.

Testament to the benefits of LST - whether you're height constrained or not!

a420er is dead on. A proper LST should open the canopy and force side branches into smaller colas. It works. I LST 90% of what I grow in my micro tent. If I don't I get one big top cola and then a bunch of popcorn crap bud. Feel free to scope out my current black cream. Hands down my most aggressive LST job yet......and its loving every minute of it.

@nytros. "Low" stress training when done correctly is virtually no stress on the plant. It is possably the best way to manage the height of an auto as well as improve yield of most strains.

Week 2.jpgThanks a420er for your response and pics. This is my plant at week 2. Its amnesia haze. I'll need to give it a little bit more height before i stress it i think. Would you agree?? your plant look amazing by the way!!! really nice cola's!!

Yes, probably one more week then begin bending her a little a day. At the same time begin pulling the branches opposite of the bend away from the terminal node. You want to try and open the center up and let the main branches grow on the outside of the pot. Take it easy and you will be fine. If you get a break in one of the stems tape it up and normally they will be fine.

I wait till they show sex. 19 to 23 days on average. Its been i guideline I follow and its worked out for me so far.
