Well I thought I was having a cal issue but have seen little improvment even at 1.5ml/liter of cal/mag

Setup......

Blue automazar day 50
Biobizz lite/greenlite mix
Roots organic player pack + cal/mag
(Following schedule per roots organic)
2 mars reflector 96x5 @ 16"
7 gallon smart pots
Temps 68 low 82 high
Humidity stable at 55%

Last batch of feed 2 days ago
Was 950ppm and 6.0ph

Only question I have beyond what deficiency is this,, would be.....

Per roots organic I should feed at 5.5-6.5ph but I have also read ph is not critical on organic grows in soil. Which should I follow??

I don't think it is too bad yet but I'd like to get a handle on this as these girls should start stacking weight on very soon

Hey bud-- pH is always important no matter the medium or type of nute's,... organic included! Soil pH is best around mid to low 6's,... are you running full bloom mode nutes now? the spots could be a little P defc., which can start to lock out if the pH get below 6.0,... but Ca defc. does have some overlap in symptoms sometimes with P defc.; the odd color loss along the midribs, I'm not too sure of... is it on the uppermost growth only? Also, the lights might be too close at only 16", and with 5w diodes,... I see the "teeth" turning up along the edges on the uppers, a minor symptom of light/proximity heat stress,... and could also magnify the Ca defc., something LED is notorious for,...

Yes, I am on the bloom part of the feed schedule. Running exactly as roots organic calls for.

And light spots are only on a couple of the upper leaves, in the very center of the plant only. Maybe only on a dozen leaves.

So today is feed day. Mixed up a batch per roots organics schedule. Only tweek was to the hp2 and hpk. Should be running 10ml/gallon. Since they are 0-4-0 and 0-4-3
I bumped them both to 12ml/gallon.

Pulled the lights back to 20"

Feed is bubbling until this evening, Will adjust ph to 6.5 before feeding.

Typically before adjusting the feed is in the low 4 range. Takes a fair amount of ph up to get to 6.

Will having to use more to get it to 6.5 have any ill affect??

Thanks @Waira

..sounds good! I assume you know to alter the feed sched' for auto's, basically an accelerated table,... at his stage, I'd get as high and balanced of PK ratio as I could, between the Bloom and HPK,... the pH up, what brand? ..should be okay,... Can you use some dechlorinated tap water, for a higher CaCO3 and buffering capacity? This would use less pH up to get it stable at 6.5+,...

I keep tap water constantly bubbling to hopefully get rid of some of the chlorine in my tap water. Not sure how effective it is but I'm sure it is better than straight from the tap.

The ph up is general hydroponics.

I am currently running a 3 day rotation.
Feed, water, dry. Feeding 1 gallon per pot every third day. These are in 7 gallon smart pots, it takes almost a gallon the get runoff on the days I feed.

Would running a smaller, maybe 2 liter feed every other day be better??

Just got off the phone with the tech helpline at roots organics. Very very nice people over there. Def gotta give props to their customer service

So.........there is no need to ph their organic nutrients when used in their soil. As long as it is aerated for 24 hours or has risen to 5.0ph just go with it.

Apparently having to use too much ph up can cause lock out.

Was told to let my soil dry out and then go with a batch that hasn't been adjusted.

Gotta say, if this turns out to be correct their product is even easier to use. Any idiot could do it.

Do you have any supplements rich in minerals? I use GH Urtica and organic molasses together with all my chemicals.
My experience is to feed lots of minerals. I usually give base nutes + booster supplements in one feeding, a cocktail of minerals in the next, then pure water or nutes, depending on plant size/phase. So a 1-2-3 or 1-2 schedule.
I am in my 1-4th grow, all at the same time, so I have a lot of observations. Our plants can consume much more ions than we imagine. Mg2+ in particular. Phosphorus is the only mineral I use in realtively small amounts and only every 2 weeks.

There are a few dry supplements that come in the player pack. The schedule calls for every other week. Been following the schedule per roots organics.

Gonna run with what they told me today and see how it goes.

Those guys were super helpful.

Gave the ladies each a 1/2 gallon feed this morning. No ph adjust.

Hopefully this puts everything back in order in a couple days.
