I just removed the ponytails after about 8 hours. All good man, just watch them over the next 24-48 hrs. Those side shoots are thanking you. If you get too worried about it, you can minimize it to 4 hrs instead of 8 that they're tied up everyday for the next 4 days. You can even go for 3 days, and judge whether you're satisfied with the growth progress and how well they have responded to the training or not.
I fed these in question a 1/4 strength mix of Grow More "All Purpose" Sea Grow 16-16-16 a couple of days ago along with a little Grow More "Jump Start".The Roots/Mephisto Soil plants are a bit yellow and the leaves are rougher than the Coco Loco/Kind Soil.
I'm thinking they are feeding off the base soils only now since they are so young which leads me to believe the Coco Loco is superior for young plants.

I just removed the ponytails after about 8 hours.
I did notice the lower side shoots have gained some length and bulk so I think it's working!
I'm assuming the leaf bundle I tied up will straighten itself out?
Thanks for your input. The bundle will fall back in to position a little at a time..As soon as the training is over, give it a few days and everything should be back to normal.![]()
