Fast Buds 4 Strain Throwdown: Which Buds are REALLY the Fastest? C4 vs Cali Sno vs Green Crack vs DDP

Day 35: First, here's the C4-matic, getting good bud coverage, you can see teh dark purple color coming through, and the calyxes are swolen with seeds, a cross of Green Crack and C4 that I will be calling C-Green

Next is the Green Crack, one is shorter, and seems to be developing faster, the other is a bit taller, and a little behind on the bud development, but i think it's going to be denser (or would have been if not for the seeds) you can also see developed calyxes in these buds:

The Deep Dark Purple is a fun one - in the overhead shot you can see, it just decided to top itself one day. Every seed from this batch did that. It is pollinated, and I'm hoping that the self topping is a recessive gene, and that incredible purple color is a dominant gene. I am calling this one Deep Dark Crack.

This is the California Snow - it's a shorty, but it is a quick finisher, very well developed buds already, and also covered in seeds - what I will be calling California Crack.

And finally, the Gorilla Glue Plants my cousin hooked me up with. I amy have polinated these too early, that are just now starting to really develop and bud, but every bud spot is completely covered with seeds. Green Gorilla will be this one's name.

just a quick question if you don't mind dude ..my coco has been getting a small amount of what I think is green algi ... and just checked your pics out, will the paper plates you have on top of your pots cure this and is is this why you have them in place cheers mate

The paper plates are to catch any seeds that drop, I have never grown coco, only soil, but what I do to help retain moisture in the soil is put a layer of hydroton clay pellets on top of the soil, that might help your coco retain moisture better, and also cut down on teh algae as well.

First up, the Gorilla Glue, it doesnt seem to have changed much since last week, and these are i believe a week behind the others. Definitely growing seeds, one plant got burned, my fan got stuck and was blowing the hot air from teh bulb straight down on it, this also cost me one of my new seedlings

Next the C4. The taller one's buds are much denser, and the shorter one has really filled in since last week. At day 42 today, I have to say, as advertised, this plant seems like it would be ready to harvest at 7 weeks, or you can let it go 8. You can see the calyxes packed with seeds - I wish I had some no seed bud to sample right about now

The Green Crack is a little different - one plant is looking like it would be ready at 7 weeks, one looks like it'll need 9 weeks. I'll Say Green Crack is a solid 8 week strain, but not the fastest bud in the east.

Cali Snow is the one that has impressed me the most, this plant will definitely be done at 7 weeks, dense buds, great coverage of the whole plant, if it wasnt seedy, I could pull it any time at this point. This is officially, in my opinion, the fastest bud in teh east so far.

BUT - this mutant Deep Dark Purple is a week behind the others, and it has put on the most weight of any of the plants since the last update. Since it's behind teh others, it's still in the running with the Cali Sno for fastest bud in the east - plus, it's kinda a cool plant - it topped itself.

It's day 49, I forgot to get pictures of teh Gorilla Glue, Deep Dark Purple, and Cali Snow.

I figured out that the pollen started blowing on about the 7/25, so today is week 4 from initial pollination. Some of the calixes on all the plants are turning brown, and the seeds are falling out. I have gotten one seed to pop, I am testing a few more today. Instead of the original 8/31 harvest date, I am going to let them run to 9/5, which is 6 weeks from then they were first exposed, 4 weeks from their last exposure. Should produce plenty of viable seeds from what tehy look like now.

Here is C4 - It's got a ton of seeds all over it, I took a sample bud, Very stoney, pain in the ass to remove all teh seeds, which were mostly Brown and Tiger Striped - so just about done.

Here is the Green Crack. All of these plants are getting flushed with 3 gallons of plain water right now. I will flush them again next week, then no more water for the last week.

Nice job man! I'm pretty sure I have C4 feminised, GSC feminised and C4 x GSC feminised. C4's can be picked at 7 weeks, I think 8 is best, better quality imho.

:smoking: I just pulled almost everything today, day 53, 7 1/2 weeks. I had nothing to smoke on, and I had already collected over 100 of each strain's seeds, I was looking at the buds, just jam packed with more seeds, I figured, "what's the point of waiting any longer, I already am going to end up with more seeds than I will ever be able to use"

I have maybe 600-700 now, and I can't even dig through these buds any more , I can see big fat stripey seeds poking out at me still, I decided to just let tehm dry out for 6-7 days, get to teh point where I can just roll the dry buds between my fingers and knock the seeds out. I dusted teh grapefruits from teh film journal too, I'm gonna still have a few hundred more seeds coming from that at the end of next month!

It's a great feeling though - I know germ rates are low if you don't let the seeds sit, so I have a few of each strain soaking right now, hopefully by tomorrow night I'll be able to get something in teh soil.

I don't feel right about doing a smoke report/final yield/etc because the bud is so seedy, I think if I get any successfully germinated seeds, I'll post a pic of the next generation, and then open up a new journal. I don't think Fast Buds would want me posting the hybrids here, I'm not sure where to post at.

Oh, yeah, FASTEST BUDS EAST OF THE PECOS:

Gorilla Glue is not a contender in this matchup, if you read teh whole journal, you would know that.

Green Crack is a Solid 8-9 week strain. That's damn fast. It's not fact enough for fastest buds east of teh Pecos!

Deep Dark Purple is a 7 week strain, if speed is your primary concern, any of teh top three are contenders, any can be done in 7 weeks, and all are quite good quality. The Deep Dark Purple I have, though, was a mutant, and fast as it was - faster than Green Crack, it cannot win this contest, due to genetic deformities.

Cali Snow is a 7 week strain, it makes a nice little christmas tree shaped plant, and teh smell is very nice, but even it was not as frosty as our winner!

The winner of FASTEST BUDS EAST OF TEH PECOS is (drumroll......)

C4-Matic. With some of teh darkest purple buds I have ever seen, a 7 week finish time, and a trichrome coverage that leaves a purple resin all over my fingertips from just teh slightest handling of teh bbuds, C4-matic is easily the FASTEST BUDS EAST OF TEH PECOS, and by far one of teh most underrated strains in teh Fast Buds lineup!
