Hi y'all
I've been planning to start growing for a long minute, but life keeps happening (plus weed has somehow been getting cheaper round here despite no move towards decriminalization which gave me the illusion of bang for buck).
It's back on the table. My ride or die soldier of a girl has shifted from being like vaguely supportive to pushing for it, so this time it's forrel. I'm also at like a 6 so I'm rambling.

Anyway, plan as it stands is title+1xAutopot+Mephisto Genetics genetics. Would I realistically find myself short on light with this setup in this size tent? I could keep the same chips and upgrade to a 320-1750, but that would mean more expensive (and expensive to ship) heatsinks. Budget is around 300$ shipped, and shipping to the shithole-to-remain-unnamed in which I live is not exactly fun. Not pinching pennies, but not not-pinching pennies either.

In a 3x3 with autoz, that should be fine, especially seeing other grows.

I just set my 4x4 up, and will start in a 3x3 corner under 200w of citizen 1212s. I intend to double (or more, probably 600w actual draw) the lighting, but I'll be running photos as well, so my light requirements are higher.

If you spend a little time on this site, looking for grows of the same ladies, it'll go a long way!
Found this site about 8 months ago. Nicest bunch of people! If you get into any issues, everybody piles on to try and get ya sorted!

Wish this place was available when I did my first grow 30 years ago! Would prevented a lot of stumbling around!

Music to my ears. I love the (auto) part in the wattage talk. If you were growing photos in a 3x3 would 500 watts be enough for the ppfd sticklers? If so then running your autos at half that for 24 hours per day is the same number at the end of the day.
250x24 hours is 6000 watts per day
500x12 hours is 6000 watts per day

@InexpensiveBeret it’s not always about the money. When you grow your own its 10x better than bought mj every time. You also know what goes into it unlike these growers pushing for maximum yield. Some nasty chemicals out there.

yeah but considering the kind of trouble i could get into for growing vs just scoring, a bump in quality wouldn't really be enough to justify it. saving a few solid hundred bucks a month would. i'm really excited about the genetics, the quality, being able to have a real idea of what i'm smoking, where it comes from etc, but i'm REALLLLLY excited about becoming weed independent.

y'all murricans starting to forget. makes me jealous.

also, this is the main theoretical argument i've been making for autoflowers to my like photo absolutist friends. the real advantage isn't some mythological ease of use by not having to click some buttons on a light, it's to do with how much light you can cram into a plant. minute for minute, a genetically solid auto should, theoretically, outpace a photo. for someone in my position - can't maintain a cut right now, high preference for speed and variety - good autos seem to make more theoretical sense.

A lot of us mericans have spent more time underground than above. Don't think I'll ever get rid of those old habits. Still better to be unseen, and unknown.
