I have only one issue along the lines of genetics, and I preface this by stating old time grower here!also, this is the main theoretical argument i've been making for autoflowers to my like photo absolutist friends. the real advantage isn't some mythological ease of use by not having to click some buttons on a light, it's to do with how much light you can cram into a plant. minute for minute, a genetically solid auto should, theoretically, outpace a photo. for someone in my position - can't maintain a cut right now, high preference for speed and variety - good autos seem to make more theoretical sense.
With photos, I'd grow out 10 of a particular strain, flowering clones when ready, and then cull 9 of the mothers, looking for the best example to fill my room for years to come.
With autos, your hoping for genetic resemblance, with clones....same same.
Not near the issue when your not projecting for bills etc.
