AK47 photoperiod

It's DWC. Roots not even hitting the water yet and I already lowered the water level to maybe 2 inches below the pot. I'm scared the rockwool cube is too wet. The tips of leaves look bad and the color is a much much lighter green than her sister (not shown) who is the exact same age but planted in soil.

6 days old and no nutes yet. PH between 5-6 (using drop tester)

Maybe it's just hungry? I thought I wasn't supposed to feed this soon though. I took the net pot out of the bucket and set it under some cfls to try and let the rockwool dry for a bit. I'm going to refill the res with 1/4 nutes and hope that works.

Please help ;(

Good to see you posted your issue here. I'm not an expert on hydro, so I'd be no help at all. Be patient someone will be of help soon.

Hi bud ,its pretty normal for a seedling to take upto a week or maybe a bit longer to show a root so don't worry too much .Lowering the water level is a good idea to make them go searching downwards ... & maybe go 1/8 th strength nute for the 1st week ?. A PH meter is almost essential for DWC & your looking to be between 5.5 & 5.8 for the 1st few weeks & anything outside that range may cause problems .

I would also fill the net pot up with a few more pebbles as light will damage any roots exposed

good luck :Sharing One:

while you dropping loot on a pH meter, you might as well get a ppm meter as well. Your gonna need it...

Ahh I already had a ppm meter. No way I take my first steps into the hydro world without one haha. I actually did a lot of research before I went down this road. That is why i'm stressing out so hard now. I feel like I did everything right and my plant is not looking right. ;(

just keep in mind with these plants its not a sprint, you still have alot of race to run. just be patient and cover ya abc's then just watch her grow

i use ph strips cause im cheap :D bought a cheap meter but couldnt keep it calibrated. i use hydrion tape. it measures from 5.5-8ph and the colors are easily distiguished.
