Live Stoner Chat A couple of US patents.

Wow man. That was way more then I expected. I really enjoyed reading your post. You have a lot of good points.
The whole Medical industry being laughable. Though, technically everyone dose benefit in some way medicinally from cannabis. So, in theory. Everyone legitimately qualifies for cannabis. When referring to California’s medical laws that is. I can speak for the rest of the countries laws.

Though, outside of that context. Its extremely laughable, and kind of sad at the same time. I have mixed opinions on this topic now. Since, it is a medicinal herb. I believe that once this whole recreational legalization has a strong enough foot hold. We should seriously take a strong effort to distinguish the plant as a medicine, over a drug. Thats the only part of legalization Im not liking. Treating it like a drug/narcotic. Like something that is potentially really dangerous. Though, of coarse. Nothing is free of harm. You can die from a water over dose.

I also agree with the opium statement. I never really researched that extensively into opiates. That makes perfect sense. I’ve come to see that to be true with cannabis. Ive always believed that the natural opium was a far better method of using the medicine, instead of their synthetic versions.

Good stuff Neko. Agree. Really good point per sorting things out once recreational laws expand.

Just stumbled upon the Opium info. after purchasing a book about its history a few years back. Fascinating. It is in a different class altogether. To use for pleasure requires discipline. It can bite one--if, careless in the extreme. In Asia there use to be and, probably, still are older men who use daily. Read about some who would have a pipe in morning and evening. The effect is not like the movies can be more of a pick me up. Traditionally, responsible opium use was reserved for the elders (meaning not kids or young adults) who had done their time and had the wisdom to know how to use responsibly. Serious recreational users do stop, intermittently (read a few weeks), to tame any serious addiction. However, if, abused it will get one but not as bad as the pharmaceuticals.

Yet it is illegal accepting medical production. Without morphine back in the US civil war suffering would have been horrible. Yet--many did become addicted to the pure morphine. Wonder if Romans used opium for pain from the spears and swords. Will have to check.

Let's keep your thread going. Then we can expand it and relocate to another section or sections someday and re-title--if necessary. What do you think.

Cheers

Hey, that sounds good to me man.

See, its things like that with Opium, and cannabis as an example. That has inspired me to investigate further.

Cannabis has dozens of synergistic chemicals, that work together to help alleviate and unkown amount of illnesses and ailments.
Same with Opium. Though, that one is a more serious medicine that is not to be used carelessly as cannabis allows one to do.

I do find this very fascinating about the poppy plant. You've definitely inspired me to do more digging on the subject. Things like this just further my theory that all the medicinal tools, building blocks, and so forth. Can indeed be found in nature. The extensive knowledge the Chinese have on natural medicines is mind blowing. Though, I know some can be hit or miss.

Seems like Cannabis and Natural Opium would be extremely beneficial to people that are in need of true pain alleviation.

This also brings to mind, the suggestions that psylocibe cubensis (probably spelt it wrong) has benefits to the brain. Creating new nerves? I can remember.
Hold on.
a quick digging found this
http://guardianlv.com/2014/03/magic-mushrooms-found-to-treat-illness/

It wasnt the artical m reffering to though. It was talking about some new evidence that suggests it can physically help form new nerves in the brain that were once damaged. Something along those lines.

The list goes on lol.

I hear the same--the mushrooms and cluster headaches. Saw a segment on Drug Inc. about a middle aged conservative Texan who doesn't care for the effects. However, it is the only substance that keeps them at bay. Uses a dose a few times a year--could be monthly. Most enlightening segment have seen. So, must have neurological effects--protective--I assume.

Keep me posted on your research etc. Will try to get others to drop by this thread.

Cheers

I think I might have seen that. Maybe not. Ill have to look it up.
Will do man. Glad we got a good thread going. :Sharing One:

The Romans most likely came across opiates once they had conquered the East. The eastern Mithras cult which was primarily a Roman military "club" before it developed into Christianity (that's oversimplifying the story, I know) initiated it's members in a closed "sacred" space and although opiates aren't named the very rare descriptions of this ceremony indicate they may have been used as "holy smoke" to enhance the spirituality of the ceremony.

As an aside the Romans were very aware of cannabis but it was seen as something used by the idle rich or the "juvenalis" which was a unique Roman outlook that basically described what we would call teenage behaviour but was used to describe anyone of any age who hadn't "grown up" in the eyes of their society.

There is also some evidence that they used antibiotics in the form of a very rare tincture made from the mold on a specific type of Egyptian bread by some healers and priests.

Oh and some mummified Egyptian bodies have been found with traces of cocaine obtained most likely through Phoenician trade with the Americas.

If only the Great Library of Alexandria hadn't burnt down we'd know a lot more what narcotics the ancients used!

Howdy Bilbo:

Good to see you. Fascinating the Romans. Watch all the documentaries and have a comprehensive (didn't expect it to be so rich in detail) book discussing every aspect of the Roman Legions--uniforms, weapons, organization, diet, dress and on and on. A slow read.

Will share some tidbits at a later date.

Yes, came across a description somewhere (will look it up) about an ancient elixir which contained--cannabis, opium and a plant derivative of an ephedrine like substance. Not necessarily Roman--will have to verify.

Interesting per the mold. And cocaine traces in mummies--evidence of early South American trade.

Indeed, all the history of antiquity was lost. A shame.

"If it is a conspiracy by business interests teaming up with government--then in the US, we have proof the US government is engaged in unscrupulous activity and it is the citizens job to take whatever action is necessary (legally and with ethical/morally integrity) to straighten them out. That is find the smoking gun."

There has been a ruling that just identifying components that make up a plant is not enough for a patent. ( Will try to find the citation ). The patent application must show proof that the subject is the product of original development.
The patent holder usually sells licenses to use their patented item rather than sell it outright and it would be interesting to see if any licenses have already been issued on 6630507 by the Health Department. This would go a long way in suggesting a conspiracy if the timing corresponded with, or even predated its issue date.
As it is, I don't think the patent, which was issued merely on a shot gunned like list of known components, would stand the test in a court case and would most likely end up being rescinded. Like any case against a gov't agency, it will be a long drawn out affair and very expensive. They have the deep pockets of the treasury and can use all the high priced outside lawyers that they want with little accountability and no incentive to settle. (brother in laws have to eat too.)

Great thread Neko, Important and informative.

I like the US National Security Act in relation to patents.

Can't find link right now but it basically says that if you make something amazing, like a zero-point-energy device, the government snaps it up and shuts you down.

There's also a patent where they mention exotic weaponry including weather weapons like chemtrails!!

Mind-boggling !!!

Thanks everyone for contributing to the thread. Some very interesting stuff were getting her.

Funny thing about that, is I remember watching a documentary somewhere. How the US,Russian,Chinese?,and the EU or UN..Cant recall..or both.

Have these random electrical grids(not sure of the proper terminology.) that send some type of magnetic waves into the atmosphere to alter the earths main wind currents. I think this was actually on history channel I believe. Not sure though.

I have indeed heard of the early cocaine mummies on some documentary also. Very interesting to think about.

Speaking of that ancient elixer. When I come home from work, Ill try to dig this old "christian" (probably from the gnostic christians) entheogenic recipe.

Which Included Cannabis,Amanita muscaria, psilocybin cubensis,Opium poppy, and I believe there was one or tow more ingredients. It was not clear in the amounts used in this possible recipe. Its not clear evidence. Its based off of suggestive evidence.
