Hi guys,

I've more experience growing outdoor plants, indoor i can't really get a decent yield. Usually if i get an ounce per plant indoor i get happy, but now i'm frustrated because i know i should be yielding way more than this.
I know a grower that clone autos and has been success. He's way more experience than me indoor, and usually he don't expect less than 4 ounces per plant.

9 plants under 600 watts. He takes clones at 2 weeks with clonex and jiffy's (usually they've 4 inches, with up 3 laterals) and vege them for 2 weeks (usually until 12 inches), then transplate them to bigger pots. At 4 weeks he stakes them (so that he's not hitting or cutting any roots) and then they go 12/12 from here for about 7-8 weeks.

This grower is very experience with clones (something i'm not), so he can control well the climate of clones and reduce the stress of the plants, his setup for clones is pretty cool also . I love the way the plants get, not tall but with dense buds as the light can penetrate really well. He also have amazing reflection, something i'm failing at this moment.

Do you want to give your opinion about this approach? I'll give it a shot once i finish my current grow with a few clones only, but i'm more septical about the 12/12. With him works really well because the entire setup is a result of many years of growing and the conditions of the grow are really good, but the 12/12... I just don't know, for me it should always be better to have 18/6, but then again, this guy can yield 4 times more than me and spend way way less electric!

I can tell you the plants he is cloning are not autos. I have talked to several despesories and had a lot of growers tell me they were growing autos and found out they just did not know what autos are. If your just seeing pre flower at week 4 or 5 and still have to flower under 12 hours then there not autos. This is normal for a photo to show sex around day 30 or 40. Autos are too small at week 2 to clone. You can not control veg or bloom with auto and best results flowering an auto happen with 18-20 hours of light on. You could be growing a photo/auto F1 plant that flowers fast but is not fully auto. What's your set up? Light, space, pot size, medium, strain? My last auto pulled almost 3 ounces and would have been more but I made a few mistakes and should have also used a larger pot. A 3 gallon turned out to be a little small. From what I learned from my last grow was... what I recomend... 600w HPS 4x4 space, 4 plants, 5 gallon pots, take 3 bags of roots organic soil mix in 1 gallon of steer manure and 1 cup of lime, let sit for 1 month before using. This should get your plants to week5 at which point start lightly feeding with bloom nutrient once a week for 4or 5 weeks and then flush. I am working on a super soil type of recipe simular to what sub cool dose were the top 50% is my veg soil mix and the bottom 50% is my bloom mix. The whole grow is just add water to try and get some consistency in my grows as well as weight and quality. My set up is still being tweaked so is not perfect yet but it might be a good idea to copy some ones else's set up that's more dieled in.
