A Hanna Combo is what I use. Tests pH, TDS and ppm with automatic temperature compensation. Can be used to pH your water/nutes before you feed and to test your run off. A soil probe is also very useful and more accurate than checking run off. The Control Wizard Accurate 8 is the best soil probe.

Hey Teo, I'll second Muddy's recommendation for the Control Wizard Accurate 8 soil pH probe. It's the bee's knees! Don't make the mistake that I did in buying three cheapo soil pH meters before realizing they were nowhere near accurate. I had three grows suffer because of it. Go with the Accurate 8 and you won't be sorry! :smokebuds:

No don't cut the top, not a good idea with auto's as they have such a short life span. Hazy
