Three plants are looking good. Nice green color reminds me of outdoor canna. Not the high nitrogen looking plants I have had in the past at this stage.
BTY--I did plant sprouts direct to pot added about a party cups worth of light warrior--enough for three weeks or so. I had preped the pots so for the last week I did not water and the plants have been searching out the remaining moisture. Prior to that I just watered the top soil as needed.
First feeding tonight. The soil growers first PH test.
Using the journal as a log for reference:
1/4 tsp/1.25 mm - Grow
1/5 tsp Silicon Blast
Few drops - Rapid Root
Per gallon of 1/2 Distilled 1/2 R/O
Have always wanted to try the Silicon supplement with canna and it must have dropped PH.
Initial PH 4.75
Brought up to 6.43
Run-offs:
CM - 6.65
RRF - 6.75
Supersonic - 6.79
The soil is light and I had run-off quickly. I checked it on the last quart of run-off. Also, I have never seen such clear run-off no soil or other material at all and I was careful not to pour along edges. The PH could have been worse and next watering can get it on point. Also, I choose HF because it can be controlled better than hot soil (heavy on N) and it is loaded with bacteria and mycorrhizae and I added some Great White--ought to help with PH and uptake.
RRF is small but growing. Both CM and Supersonic have a nice canna aroma. The CM did get a big stretch and maybe the 6500k CFL will settle it down. It is not going to be too leafy but will be lanky.
This is fun.
Take it nice and easy.
