Indoor A. Smithee's Canna Resort Grow

Update week seven:

CM - looks good and filling out. Bumped up supp lighting wattage.
RRF - still waiting for trichs to bust out. Has about three weeks to get it on or...
Super - waiting for trichs to mature. Plant is finished growing and will see what it does with a plain watering with a touch of cal/mag.

Three new (old inventory of seeds) seeds germing. New soil. New approach.

Take it nice and easy.

RRF seems to take a while for the trichs to develop. I'm on week 8 with mine and they are just starting to really form

Is the new soil promix Alan my friend :crying:

You got me DubV. I have come to the conclusion--that I 'must' get a really good handle on soil (the mystery of growing canna in soil or negotiating with Mistress PH) before becoming a promix pro. However, it may be some competitiveness :finger: soil vs. Smithee.

Now that is interesting -- Thanks evol. I'll take a look when you post a photo.

hey alan! i want to thank you for blaming me for your grow!:crying:because it is beautiful! since i took the blame, i guess i should take the credit!! yes everybody i taught alan everything he knows:buds: thats why my plants that he is growing look so good! i think i will +rep myself!

Your plants look real good Alan! :hump: Good luck with the new seeds, soil, and approach! :smokebuds:

Noods--I really appreciate your encouragement. The seeds germed: One in a three gallon smart pot and two in two gallon regular pots. I must be a risk taker as an indoor farmer because one of the seeds is a Pandora. When I grew it last it had the usual problems, but it was a massive plant. Wonderful hash smell and massive colas. But, unbeknownst to me it was loaded with mature seeds. I had an Irish melt down and you know what that means. When I received the seeds there was a note from Attitude--sorry but we were out of breeder packets and have sent individual seeds. Hoping it was not a bad batch. Risky! However, it may not even hit the surface; we shall see and watch it closely if so.

Your the man Astro. You keep us on our toes and intellectually poised. Yep-----------the rep is a coming.

Beginning week eight. The plants took a high PH beating. Normally, I deal with a low PH and I can see the difference. With the low PH leaves seem to deteriorate from the edges out and burn. What I have now is coloration and leaf texture changes including purple stems--loads of lock out. I tried to get it on track but... It is just too late in the game. Last watering RRF and Super PH had crept way up for some reason. CM stayed about on track. Could be soil prep and the lime not mixed evenly or too much--who knows.

CM - buds growing. Best of all three.

RRF - light green color and buds growing still with minimal trichs but it is trying. I will let it go beyond the other two if it shows some kick.

Super - fading almost all leaves yellowing etc. Buds frosty.

Will put up some shots of buds (who knows what lurks within) they are what they are (I think UHF said something to this effect in his log)--unique in their own right :D. I am going to vap em even the ugly ducklings.

And I will put up some pics later after cut of leaves and stem for analysis.

Taking all down in ten days to get a new and improved batch in. My inventory is near depleted and "that's real bad." :cuss:

Ordered ------- New PH/PPM combo with new buffers, cleaners etc. Something must be amiss with my meter. Going to be very careful with calibration and check PPM all the time. And very light feeding due to low LED intensity (a thread I will put up for discussion -- soon).

Anyone have suggestions on up and down solutions -- besides the basic hydro chemical brands. Been using GH - seems inconsistent.

Take it easy all.
