Extraction A-Train needs supervision.

What's up guys I'm making my first run of bho when all my gear shows up. I have the fresh frozen trim front 4 or 5 plants as well as almost an entire SODK X ALIEN plant saved up for the run so it should be a big one. I have been putting in some hrs doing research and mad a pr chase today. I have a tube a 12 pack of power 5x butane and a 2 gallon vacuum chamber and 3cfm pump to go with it.

First question first.. do I need to dry the fresh frozen trim? Or can I take it right from the freezer, pack my tube, and blast?

Once I decide wether to blast the fresh frozen or to dry then blast the blasting part seems simple enough. As well as the evap outside of butane.

I understand I can place then on percent paper and place on vac. This is where it gets a bit blurry but I'll go through weedman79 stuff again and figure it out I planned to purge for a bit no heat then say the last 8 hrs of vac purge run it at 90 to 100 degrees then call it good. Well see how it goes hope some of ypu can help me put along the process

I believe you want to dry it out, trying to minimize the Chlorophyll..The least plant matter the better.

Yes you'll need to dry for sure, you'll be getting massive amounts of chlorophyll in the extract otherwise. It actually benefits from an extra dry (dehydrator) before stuffing the tube, makes it come out nice and golden. Also gotta figure that even though the plant material may be dry, the trichomes take a bit longer to loose moisture through their wax membrane. Of course it's a balancing act, don't wanna let too many terpenes evaporate either.

I should mention that it is done with frozen trim in controlled conditions for live resin extract but it's very hard to get right as evidenced by the crap that makes it to some of the dispensaries around here. It took the guys who developed the system for wet runs a while to get it right.

As stated above if you were to harvest and didnt want to dry it would have to go straight to the freezer in multiple bags for live resin or fresh frozen same thing.

I like doing live resin runs but i have found yield is less for me rather then getting a nice dry and doing dry runs.

@Weedman30 what's up brother. Thanks for all of your videos and tutorials. I have all of my equipment otw and I've watched your videos tens of times. I was going to p.m you but I saw in HT what was going on. From one brother in arms to another I feel for you man. I was an army medic deployed with the 79th EOD unit twice to iraq. I think it's safe to say you and I both know what it would feel like to be totally blind sided by Ray Lewis at full speed multiple times.


I'm going for shatter. I plan to vac purge at 110 to 115 oil temp and at 29 inHG until all butane activity stops. I'm still watching and researching but that's the plan. If I do not get to a consistantly I feel safe and visually pleasing I will heat to 130 - 135 and whip as you did in the video and go for the more honeycomb wax.

Looks like a good splat to me, although it looks a bit foamy, how long did you purge it for and at what temp?
