Both my LED lights have step dimmers.

Are there any lights that have a potentiometer style dimmer to dial in intensity more accurately?

Most lleds I have seen using Inventorics or Meanwell drivers have dimmers or the capacity to be dimmed in the way you are asking.

Do those lights of yours have an Ext port ( RJ11/12)? I have an Amazon led that has a step dimmer integratedinto the driver but also has an Ext port to which I can connect a potentiometer dimmer and daisy chain to other lights. I think your light should have something similar.

The Migro has an RJ11 connector.
I looked into the vivosun controller but the controller itself had a step increase.
 
What are the differences/disadvantages with step dimmers vs. a potentiometer-type presumably continuously adjustable dimmer? Is one type of dimmer digital vs. not, actually calibrated and accurate, and/or allow better automated control?

You want better intensity "accuracy," but in terms of measuring or controlling what - wattage/electricity consumption, total light photon output, light/photons per sq. ft. at certain height, actual photosynthetic useful light (PPFD), etc.? Do you want more accurate calibration of dimmer dial labeling or numerical readout of "intensity?"

For me it would be more convenient when adjusting PPFD and DLI.

Is your problem that the differences in "intensity" with step controllers are too wide, or that all of these dimmers totally lack any actual calibration?

What would be the more accurate "intensity" parameter/units measured or be pre-calibrated (labeled) by the dimmer?

Finer control of "intensity" could also be achieved by light height adjustment.
