Glad to have you along Pete! I don't know how much learning you will get but we will have some fun anyways.

Not much to update on right now but I was taking pictures of everything so thought I would throw one of the group up. Still another month or so before they are big enough to start flowering.

I'm sure you've tried all three at this point but do you notice a difference in veg sure from plastic to fabric to airpots? Obviously your running all air pots.... Are they worth the price?

I used fabric, still have about 40 of them sitting around, and plastic air pots. I haven't noticed a visual difference in the way the plant grows as far as one being better than the other. The reason I ended up using the plastic ones are support. The plastic ones are easier to move without damaging roots. Every time I picked up a 5 gallon fabric pot I could hear the roots tearing as they moved back and forth. The fabric ones also seem to compact the soil easier as the grow goes along causing less aeration. The third reason is the fabric ones sit on the ground and the plastic ones keep the bottom off of the ground. So, the roots aren't cold during the winter because they allow air circulation under them and keep the heat of the room. The other problem is, the fabric ones wouldn't air prune if they are on the ground. They just continue to curl around in the bottom.

So, to answer your question, no I don't see any visual benefits from one or the other but there are a lot of intangibles. Plus, these pots aren't expensive. If you buy the "Air Pot" brand then it is but several places sell knock offs, which I have both, and they are just as good. I think I gave like $70 for a box of 10 pots and they last forever. I have used mine for probably three years with no problems. When I finish a grow I dump the soil out and hang the pot on a picket fence post out back for a rain or two. After a week they are squeaky clean and ready to go. Oh, the other thing, the fabirc pots tend to build up a crap ton of salts in them so you end up having to wash them out constantly. No matter how much I rinsed them outdoors they always left soil in the washing machine. My wife wasn't very fond of that at all, as you can imagine. I like them enough I would never go back to anything else but honestly if you are happy with what you are using I don't think it would pay to change. You definitely aren't going to see any increase in growth like some if the hucksters claim. If we were growing long season crops or trees then there would be that possibility of the roots outgrowing the container but so long as you are using a suitable sized container then they aren't in them long enough to outgrow.

:woohoo1: A4 pho-to fun! :headbang: --amusing title too my friend-- LOL! -- yes, just a few seeds, mmmmhh... And juicy choices too! GTH is fierce stuff man, a cruise missile ride with Sitar music playing in your head-

:haha: ... I find this one can get pretty jittery,...
Ooo, Scott's OG, that made my list of possibles this year,.. it's a powerful Indi' you say? How does she compare to Night Queen? I'm having some difficulty deciding-.. I'm looking at Next Gen.'s Dynamite (Grapefruit variant), Mohan Ram, Sensi Star, and Pakistani Chitral Kush as contenders too,...
... the RC sounds pretty zippy too, with that Asian landrace lineage,... I've had Strawberry Fields [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG], and loved it! the aroma was pure fruity bliss,... I got some SB years back, and it was not a good grow of it sadly,.. one of the local collectives has it on their menus all the time now, but they seem to be struggling with potency issues with it, and SC, organically grown,... I'm not sure who's version of SC they have either,...
Hazeman has one called Blowfish I really want to try as well! it's a G-13/Oregon Funk/Blue Dot cross,... but alas, I have neither time, resources or space for reg's at the clients place, so I stuck with fem's for now,...:dammit::rofl:... looking forward to this grow my friend!:pighug:

Greenskell, Eek, Root,...:bighug: :smokeout:

Glad to have you along @Waira. Let me answer your questions before I get to this post. Your question about Scott's OG compared to Night Queen. They are two different beasts my friend. You know my feeling on Night Queen but for anyone new, I will repeat them. Night Queen is, for me, the best indica ever created. It is quite powerful but not intense, it is very calming/relaxing and excellent for my anxiety disorder. The flavor isn't the greatest but it is truly my favorite indica I have ever smoked, bar none, no questions asked, I love her and could smoke her every evening for the rest of my life and not be unhappy. @DutchPassionTony there is a quote for you my friend, lol. The Scott's OG, well I can't really compare the two. I will say this and leave it up to you to try. When I first started growing Scott's I knew it was a potent strain just by the stench. I could literally smell the plants when I get within 20 feet of my house. Mind you, I have an insulated, sheet rocked grow room located in the center of my garage that is insulated as well that was custom built to contain aromas. The walls have a vapor barrier along with R-30 insulation in them. I have never smelled a plant outside the room, and for sure not outside my home. I honestly thought I would have to chop the Scott's early to contain the smells. After the chop, I gave my wife a few grams to sample. She gave me back what she had left and refused to smoke any more. This coming from a woman that easily smokes 3-4 grams per day. I gifted some to several friends that are well versed in the canna field, each and every one of them said it was the most intense reefer they have ever smoked. My views on it, I took about two hits from a vaporizer and was literally obliterated. I got so high I lost track of time and couldn't do anything for about an hour. For me, comparing Scott's OG to anything else is like comparing say a nice bourbon to 190 proof pure grain alcohol. If you want to get completely blitzed off your ass and not be able to do anything then smoke some. It really wasn't for me. I prefer the quality of the high and with Scott's there is no quality really. There is just intense, complete, fucked uppedness. I hope that helps bro.

So, here we are on day, I have no fucking idea, lol. I tend to grow my photos for quite some time before flowering and these won't be an exception. I will probably veg for at least a couple more weeks before flipping in hopes of filling the containers full of roots and thus increasing yields to maximum potential. I can tell you the GTH is on the back right, as is apparent from the nice sativa leaf structure, the others I am unsure of. They are labeled but I didn't take time to look. I will update again in a week or so or when I switch to flower, which ever comes first.

Much love and peace my friends.

:jointman: yeeeeshh, I know NQ is really your true Indi' Queen! The your description of the quality and nature of her buzz are what got me interested in her,... other grows and rave reviews have locked her in for a try this, or next season! Now that Scott's is something else apparently- :eek1: - holy crap, through all that, and you still got stank?! What was the aroma like, along the usual lines for OG's? I can't help think it's more the terpene H-bomb than outright THC content that made it so much of a skull-fuck buzz  --which I totally get A4, it's physically incapacitating and causes instant retardation! I've had something similar in the past, don't know what it was though, but it wasn't really that enjoyable,... duly noted my friend! But terpene abundance fascinates me, and I may have to try anyway- LOL! If it's as fierce as you describe, I'll consider spending the $$ to get it lab tested with a terp profile included! I want to know WTF is behind this :eyebrows:...

:coffee::coffee::coffee: daaaamn! That's some impressive growth for a bit over two weeks! They look lovely, lush and happy my man :d5: :pass:

  • Hi Folks..m just popped my head in here for a read. This Scott's OG and night queen sound like some I would like to try. I am just an amateur but it's nice to have some thing that will glue me to my seat in front of the campfire.

I have no idea what day it is on the veg cycle but I can tell you one thing! It is day 1 on the flowering cycle, Hahhahhhh! Let's get our stretch on! I still have a few that need to be potted up but I dropped several into the flower room tonight so this makes day 1. As you can see below, I also dropped a few new ladies and gents as well. The lower picture is some Cannabiogen Sandstorm. These are regs so I don't know how many will be ladies but we will keep a nice looking male to pollinate the finest of the females. I have been looking forward to growing these for quite some time. The look to be a seriously intense indica so we will see what they look like soon. There are 10 seeds so let's keep our fingers crossed for at least 5 ladies.
