Hey, that is a nice setup spellbound! If you do the Uncle Jesse's recipe, or any all grain recipe for that matter, keep your backset to remix. I started doing that last year and man o' man does it make a difference in the flavor profile. I add about 5 gallons backset to each new 15 gallon batch and it gets better with every run. You will not be disappointed.

I did a couple on the sweet feed mash. Added some of the backset on top of the yeast bed 7lbs of sugar topped off with fresh water and away it went. Seemed to finish fermenting sooner as-well. Are you a member of Homedistillers forum? Its a good forum for lots of info, just theirs some rude people on there but guess that par for alot of forums.

Yeah bro, I am a member. Haven't been on there in quite some time but still a member.

I remember reading a thread some where and if i remember correctly it had something to do with a red car in the background. Not sure if it was you or somebody else but the guy was talking about he had one at one time and said something to the fact about the battery box. Anyway when i seen that pic of your still and that red car in the background it rang a bell.

lol, yeah that was probably me. I have had that Porsche for years and been working on it the same amount of time. If I could let go of some hobbys I could probably finish it, it is an albatross around my neck. They are notorious for battery acid washing out the box and eating the subframe.

Nice setup A4 I have never saw anyone use a keg for this before. I have a still but mine is more like the traditional ones. My family has been making shine for 100 plus years so its just in my blood I guess I grew up not knowing any better hell I thought everyone did this until I got older.
