I have seen confusion a few times on this board and others on the correct way to assemble Air-Pots. Here is a few pictures from the newest assembly guide. Hope this helps resolve the questions.

Read carefully, yet such a simplistic design they can still trick you. There is a correct face, up and down, and also the bottom has and up and down and certain rows to install on. Make sure you identify this.

I found in most size air pots you can go a "notch" or cone lower then the instructions when installing the bottom and most sizes will still allow for air to circulate beneath pots and water will not pool up during watering. This will allow for a little more medium in the smaller pots.

Iv'e had my bottom wrong all this time,I just figured the rib side should face down. Thanks!!:smokebuds:

I think most small/medium autos can easily be grown in a 6L airpot, especially the 8-10 weekers.i only use 3&6L airpots.iv read that with the air pruning it encourages more feeder roots to grow, which take up more water and nutes, making the plant grow more vigorously.if your using a huge pot for a small/ medium auto and the roots don't fill your pot,i dont think the air pruning is maximised, and its wasted medium too.i grew a 120cm plant in a 3L airpot,it didnt auto and went for over 12 weeks, the roots were insane, just a solid mass that sucked up all the goodness.i had to feed every day but she came out very nice.:smokebuds:

I couldn't find a comparative airpot to standard closed side pot grow to see if there is an increased yield factor.........has anyone done this comparative with identical auto's apart from pheno of course ??...........AB..........i am just about to put down 6 selected from 10 fem reg "Outlaw" from DP in 15ltr airpots...........i may run one in a 11ltr standard pot. You would need to do 3 each for a comparison !!..........im not willing to take the chance on lost yield from the standard though !!........AB........

Glad this came in useful to some.

And thanks MITJ and Jtang for the rep. Just figured I share the knowledge when I can. And I had it sitting in front of me when I saw your thread.

Much love :peace:
