Indoor Air pots VS. Regular pots.

All I can tell you is air pots are fucking fantastic, I'll never go back to regular pots

Another option might be smart pots? I've read that they have similar pluses to air pots, they're similar prices over here in the UK - but prolly cheaper if you're US as they're made there? Just a thought :D

You can make it much easier to water air pots by starting your plants in cups and the planting those in the pots like I do . They you just pour the water into the cups and you dont have the water running out the sides issues. I add a little water to the top to kinda even it out but its much easier.

Here is a pic for reference

I know a lot of people use the party cup into a Air-pot, but isn't that the opposite of what you want to do? You will have a ball of root mass that's in the cup when it could be air pruning in the pot?

J TaNG had the good idea of making an indent in the centre around the plant, so it makes water fall into the centre, I've been doing this and it works great.
You just have to water slower and take you time.

You can water the cup when they are still little but you HAVE to water the entire pot once they get a little size to them.

Just seems like making things more complex to me. I have noticed though with air pots is that my soil always seems to be nice a warm. I'm guess because of all the holes.

The seeds are planted in 32 oz cups. They are typically transplanted after a week or 2 so no rootball. In a week the tap root wont even hit the bottom. The cup is cut in half and planted about an inch deep. There are no roots growing above that so watering in the cup lets the water spread out pretty pretty well. You just pour all the water into the cup that you need to water the entire pot.

I know tons of factors determine size of plant but do u guys think I'd get more from..

4 plants in 5 gallon pots.

OR

6 plants in 3 gallon pots.

As a beginner I would opt for 6 as that way you limit the damage should you stunt them or get poor genetics.
