imo if you get the right soil consistency the dirt pots are cheaper and will give you outstanding grows with healthy pruned roots.air pots are excellent too but do have some drawbacks imho as well as being more expensive. but i see beautiful grows with air pots too.just depends also if your growing chem and/or organic stuffs which do well in either..so its more a personal choice than whats better.theyre equal in my eyes just soil or medium too is the key.
thats my two cents anyher..lol:Sharing One:
Smart Pots are my choice of containers. Excellent root growth potential and they look nice. Never had the chance to do air pots. Why need to? Super Pots are relatively cheaper than air pots and you'll get excellent results.
Hey Thanks Baylee bro!! I love my wee Hydrofarm dirt pots.Ive used smart pots and untill there well established with roots Ive always found them to be harder to use earlier on in the grows.the dirt pots are heavier and still do a damn fine job but hold their shape as well as the root ball better than the smart pots.they both work excellent though.ive used a few types of cloth pots now.n thy be awesome and very user friendly :Sharing One:
well Ive had my Dirt Pots 3 and 5 gallon(Trade Gallons)2.2 true gallon to i think its 4.2 gallons as well and ive had them both for several years and many many grows in them.mainly the 2.2 gallon ones and a scrub every cpl of grows n theyve been treating me just fine.thats awesome!! glad the air pots hold up.I figured they would all hard plastic n all.they crack easy??always wondered that if ya lean or bow them much..thatd suck:Sharing One:
Both are good pots and produce a good crop.I use air pots and find they produce a massive root ball.True they are a little harder to water at times but with experience it's not that bad.I have not used the smart pot so I can't comment on those. The only thing about the smart pot is if the roots grow out the bottom into the runoff tray than if you don't water enough to keep the try with water, those roots will dry up and die.So in the end they both have there good and bad points and it's up to the grower on what to use.
see thats wild Ive never had roots grow through these drit pots yet.lol they cling hard inside but not come through yet. the smart pots are a much thinner cloth and more breathable too.i think thats what does it for them anyway..not sure just a guess. they are both stellar pots to use!!
