My air pump is silent outside of the tent. Under 40 dB. It has gummy legs. But one floor under I can hear it vibrating. Wooden floor, not concrete floor as modern buildings.

What can I do? I have it on styrofoam, which covers whole floor in my tent. And it is 5-7cm high.

its sounds weird, but I have suspended my larger air pump underneath my 125 gallon tank...it has nothing to vibrate on. just make sure you have a check valve in place for power outage.

I hand my commercial air pump also, I find it doesn't vibrate downstairs when its suspended. If the house is quiet enough I can sometimes hear it,but,I have to try real hard.

Yea, at night is problem when everything is calm. I don't have place for water bucket inside tent on floor. Also don't want mix electricy with water. Better safe than sorry.

Bungie cords are your friends, for hanging air pumps. Styrofoam is rigid, and transfers the vibration to the floor. If you can't hang it, you could set it on a piece of soft foam, or a folded blanket, small pillow, carpet scrap, etc..
Regards, Kyle

You should get some help with either a Sorbothane Vibration Damping Sheet or a "quality" piece of memory foam. I have the Sorbothane under my fan/filter as they are outside my tent and have been for several years.

You can stick it in a box stuffed with grow wool
