Good Morning everyone hope you are safe and stoned on this fine day.

It has been awhile since I have done a journal without a comp going so l figure I am due.

This round I will running two HSO photo strains Lingerie (Pink Panties crossed with 3 Kings Blueberry Headband.) and San Bacio Gelato (Bacio Gelato x 3 Kings Blueberry Headband.) Both strains are collaborations with Sherbinski.

My set up is the same as usual.

Lights-Kind 6000 for veg. COB set up for Flower (see build in links)
Soil- This is where I went way different. I typically run a mix close to what you can find on build a soil. I am using the same soil makeup (1/3 peat 1/3 local compost 1/3 rice hulls.) The amendments is where we get a little different. I know many people get messed up with amendments because there are so many options and opinions (my first mix has 14 ingredients, a waste looking back now) I wanted a simple mix that people can replicate. For amendments I used only Dr Earth Flower Girl, Karanja cake (neem), Oyster Shell Flower.

Watering-usually just water, I do use KNF (korean natural farming) FAA(fish amino acids) once a week in watering during veg. I have found it helpful and it is easy to make just google it. I also have WCA (calcium) that I will use if I see a deficiency and WPC (phosphorus) that i water in 1 a week during the first two weeks of flower.

None of the above KNF is necessary but I have noticed that is some improved plant heath with Korean Natural Farming. I only use a select few items from KNF because they are cheap and easy to make. Running all of it can become time consuming and I am trying to keep it simple. When I am recycling soil i will also use LAB. All the recipes I used are from Chris Trump.

Containers- With my mix being super hydro phobic and run off a pain in the ass I switched to 7 gallon plastic greenhouse containers to see how they work. It should force the water down keeping me from having to water 2 times a day or getting an automated set up. I know i know fabric is the greatest and all, but I am trying to keep it cheap and simple containers, soil, and amendments this run is going to cost me 25 bucks.

I have a lot of variables here but is should be a fun ride to say the least.

@HSO-Mark thanks for providing the community with great genetic options.

Mine did not arrive. Waiting on resend but might have to wait till next round. I had San Bacio Gelato as my choice too. Seeing yours makes me yearn for mine lol :crying:

Nice to see a fellow knf user. I use FAA, FPJ, FFJ and a different variant of labs. I also use IMO5. WCA and WCP is what I don't have. I use wood vinegar instead of brv.

Great grow and setup bro!

Yeah I did use FPJs for awhile but never got one down I liked. I thought sweet potato would be the best because of starch and all the nutrients. It was not bad but I did not make another batch at the end of the year.

WCP is where it is at I see a noticeable difference in flower. And of course the FAA.

Do you make your own IMO i was close to trying but it scared me off as I was having trouble collecting a sample with the rice box method.

One note I forgot I do use worm castings. No specific brand I have worm bin and make my own from garden scraps and all the damn veggies that go bad in the fridge do our buying at club stores. Who really eats 6lbs of romaine?

I typically do not mix in the soil I top dress once they go into the flower room.

I don't have anything to char the bones/egg shells with. No grill and Indoors will get me in trouble with wife. I'll think of something to see if I can make it on the down low lol

I bought my IMO5 from a local farmer. I mix it with Worm castings and top dress.

Maybe I should look around and see if someone locally sells it. IMO is the only KNF item I think takes more skill and time than I typically have.

We went camping and I just threw a bunch of chicken and beef rib bones on the edges of the fire. Worked well and did not stink up my grill. WCA I just do on hot plate in an old skillet outside.

I didn't wanna mess with IMO. The rest of the inputs are easy enough and can normally gauge using smell, color, appearance etc. Good or bad batch is pretty subjective. I prefer to keep it simple. I've seen farmers just casually prepare these inputs and it works great.

If I had a choice, I'd buy all of them if prices are reasonable. But particularly IMO5, I'd not make due to the time involved from IMO1 to 5. Would be worthwhile if I made tons of it but I'm just a simple home grower.

You look to be off to a nice start with these 2 new Sherbinski colab strains

This should be a fun one :headbang:

Good luck buddy

I'm watching with interest :pass:

Kind regards :bong:
