New Grower AKR Seedlings with Droopy Leaves, first set of leaves pale green

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me why my seedlings are so droopy? I have been watering them with tap water left out for over 24 hours and PH'd at 5.8 very sparingly, only when the hempy bucket is dry on the first inch or two. I have been keeping the humidity around 50-60% with ziploc bags and I have 5 of these seedlings under a 600w MH bulb. Only 3 of these seedlings are showing this problem and the curled leaves were from light burn from a week ago.

Should I begin feeding them nutes?

What kind of perlite is that ? Also what is the heat at in your room ? if both of those factors are on point Give them a 1/4 str dose and see how they respond what nuts you using?

imo you have a few things causing the issue.aside from curious is why your PHing your water so low..?ya running coco coir or something?if your using stright soil thats the first place.second is over powered lights as ya already said ya had a problem with.and they look decently green some of the pics that i could make out some.looks more like a lockout starting to rear its ugly head somewhat.also if your giving it too much water at this smaller stunted stage (think of the roots as seedlings not age) it'll also not let them breath as effectively either.but thats what i see bro.

you shoudl get some CFL or T5 lighting for seedlings in the future imo.will give a far better start and after a grow ot three you'll two lighting systems down for the proper uses really.imo small plants should not be started with high discharge lighting.they can be used ofcourse.but its a VERY VERY fine line when using them with young ones.

Agreed on the lights being too much for the little ones.I use 5 12v / 15w watt led strips for my seedlings and to veg they work perfect

I'm currently using 3:1 perlite to vermiculite for my hempy bucket, everything bought in the bulk bags at my nearest home depot. I read on hempy's thread that PH should be around 5.8, correct me if I'm wrong. I will refrain from watering for a few days and see how the seedlings react. Also, my lights are 24'' up and my temps are between 75-78 degrees.

Should I raise my light more or wait? Also, I have GH flora series nutes which have not been used yet.

Everything sounds on point henry! You don't need that much light that early and can get by with a small 2-4 foot florescent and save yourself a lot of electricity the first month but that is entirely up to you. 24" with 600W may be a bit close, I would err at 36 but it it going to depend on if you can keep the radiant heat down.

Definitely going to invest in T5 lighting next time around. But A4 what do you mean by keeping radiant heat down? I actually have two fans in my tent that I have kept off in order to keep temps and humidity higher.

You have two types of heat you have to worry about, radiant and ambient. Ambient is what the air temp is inside your tent, room, whatever. It may be higher or lower in spots depending on air movement and such. Radiant heat is heat that is "radiated" by your light. In other words, it is direct heat, just like an electrical eye on a stove puts off more heat the closer your hand gets to it. The light does the same thing, I can't remember exactly but inside the glass bulb is up to 1000C so it puts off a ton heat. So feel with the back of your hand in front of your plant. If you can't keep your hand steady then the light is too close.

I can keep my 600w HPS 12 inches from my plants i just use a pc fan on at the lvl my bulb is at blowing the air up it works well I went from 19 inches above the plants to 12 and if you look at my pics there loving it.

I burned seedlings with a 600w light on the grow im doing now. 600 is to much imo from my experiance. Ph also. I keep mine around 6.6-6.8 as best i can. Hope you get this sorted good luck bro
