I can keep my 600w HPS 12 inches from my plants i just use a pc fan on at the lvl my bulb is at blowing the air up it works well I went from 19 inches above the plants to 12 and if you look at my pics there loving it.

Would not recommend 12 inches with a 600W HPS. That's way too close in my opinion; even if you had it in a cool tube with an extraction fan. Don't confuse optimal lighting distances with optimal distances based on heat generated.

I've started seedlings under my 400W and my 1000W before; keep the lights up HIGH and it works just fine. Ideal? :dunno: Does it work? Yes. Can it work without stunting your plants? You bet!

Agreed. When I said 12 inches I was talking about after they are a week or 2 old and have been hardend to the light a little at a time. I start mine out under 15 watt Led strips. Before I use to use CFL's ( They love them ) but the Leds are better now and I got the strips cheap.

Hey man why did you start a new thread about the same problem and grow? You got all the answers in your old thread and here you are with a new thread exactly the same as your old one... I dont get it...

edit: every question you ask in here I gave you answer for in your old thread dude. About nutes and ph and also that growth will be slow before roots hit your res and that it will take off after that..... come on man...

edit2: and you shall water to run off after week 1 or so...the perlite will draw the water and nutes up like a wicker system to the roots you can NOT over water perlite and hempy buckets that the beauty of hempys and from there water every day to run off to get new and fresh water to your res...with nutes every time. srtart at 1/4 streanght and work your way up... and stay in 1 thread from now on bro

You can ask how many questions you want my friend thats not the problem but I dont see the point in asking questions if you dont listen to the answers and just start a new thread and ask the same questions again. If everyone did that this place would just be a big mess.

But now you know the drill so its all good.
