With the low sun and short days it's like an ice rink on my deck. Half is not getting any sun and becoming a problem, the other side that gets a few hrs is not too bad (west facing) Admittedly I only gave it one coat of stain last year when it really needed 2 (soft wood)

Wondering if anyone has got any recipes with household products or purchased anything that will get rid? Thinking bleach but not sure

Any ideas welcome

We use bleach on our flagstones diluted with water to kill the algae round the back of our house. Not sure what the bleach would do to the colour of the stain/wood but will defo kill the algae. We just douse with bleach/water, quick scrub off with broom to work it in a bit, leave for 5 minutes then just rinse. Happy days :Sharing One:

Cheers Fisher, so half a bottle in a bucket or a splash of bleach?

Been a few hours since washing the deck with a bucket of water mixed with half a bottle of bleach, algae gone and smelling clinical, also still looking medium oak :-)

Have you tried lawn sand, it kills both moss and algae..
