Honestly, both of these lights sound like they would do amazing things. I'm interested in the Kind XL1000, but I'm wondering if it's really as productive compared to the SE450 like it's advertised. Now I want your opinion on which light is best and a brief explanation (if possible).

Having some fun on the kind site.

A Little Kindness Goes A Long Way
  • KINDEST YIELDS – Perfect Mix of 3 & 5 Watt Diodes Increases Overall Efficiency and Intensity, Resulting in Huge Yields - lol what??
  • KINDEST INTENSITYSecondary Optical Lens Magnifies PAR and Increases Canopy Penetration By Up to 200%

I want these magical lenses that Double the light, we should just run a 1w led and magnify the light 1000x with magic lenses. :smoking:

Sounds good, any idea how much coverage the Amare SE450 provides ? (ftxft) ?

Omg what a thread I know a little to much about!!!

First let me say I own both. I purchased 2 kind k5's after seeing a friend have good results with them. After a week the remotes stopped working and after 2 weeks 31 of the diodes burned out. So I sent them back to kind for a return. During shipping they were damaged. Strange as I double boxes them with over 60$ in padding and tape. Even stranger was they were both damaged nearly identically. It's taken weeks just to get an approval to get an rma number. They make you send dozens of photos for what I haven't a clue. So after I received the email from kind about the damage I asked what I could do and they said I would need to pay them to ship them back. The kicker was they would t even fix the damaged diodes before sending them back since they were damaged. Kind is a joke and it's proven here after a hard time. Not to mention they use the cheapest drivers and epistar diodes available. How can they charge so much and use such shit products.

Now for the Amare or lights in general. Watts is useless. Par watts is what's important as that's what your plants use. Par watts of the Amare is much higher than a kind 1000 watt panel and it draws much less at the wall. That's savings. LEDs in general don't save anyone much unless they are efficient diodes or cobs. I can post dozens of emails from victor that's all the truth and not false claims like most other companies. With kind your paying for a rebranded Apollo with horrible efficiency. It will grow plants and do it well but will cost you a lot more to produce. The umoles, ppf, ppfd, spectrum and par watts are double the kind. Victor the owner of kind came out of retirement to take the lighting industry back from these cheap companies taking advantage of people. Not for the money but for the people. My plants under the Amare are more than 75% larger in less time under the Amare and I absolutely love them with facts to base my decisions.

I spoke to victor about the problems with kind and he said if you have a problem with a light there would be another in the mail the same day No questions. That's where I'd want my money to go. With kind the damage is questionable. Many would have given up and let them keep the lights after that journey.

There is also a lot to learn about lighting before making larger purchases like this. 90% of the companies out there make absolutely insane false claims. they use cheap parts and don't stick my the customers. They are about the money and could t care less.
