Bananna, yes the Bulldog is very tourist like, but as a newbie to the city it was a great starting point. Just like the Grasshopper. Did the Bulldog have the Monkey Nuts when you were there. Darn it there were husks all over the floor! I had to get a souvenir T shirt while I was there.


But, as I say, these are the tourist cafes. There were so many to choose from. One I particularly liked was one that only played music by The Doors. So cool.
And Villain, yes there were Class A's aplenty over there. But as a well behaved penguin I never inhaled.
Sniff, sniff. Just got a bit of a cold.

i can't remember anything about the inside from my first trip. It was a work jolly; first year into my first proper job, and by the time we got there at 1am, I did not know whether I was afoot or on horseback.......those were the days

1st went as a judge in the 95 cannabiscup , very young back then, me and 2 mates got some serious smoking on but we initially thought all the weed was goin to be free after the cost of the passess ! That trip tought us which coffee shops to frequent !
Bluebird, grey area, barneys, greenhouse and susies saloon ! Susies isn't a coffee shop but you can smoke, drink, play pool, jukebox and they show football on the TV's.
Last trip I stayed out by the zoo and botanical gardens - highly recommended.

I only ever had the bulldog experience that one time with my workmates. Next time I went asked a Dutch friend where to go and I have been going to that one ever since. It has also now got 3 or 4 locations, but I continue to patronise the first tiny one.

Haven't been to the dam for a while now and probably won't get to go again for a very long time. First time I went I'd just finished school, 16 with fake ID. hehehe. At the time my currency was the strongest against the euro that it has and ever will be, so it basically halved the cost of my normal expenditure at home. The selection and quality was exceptional and I literally just trawled from coffee shop to coffee shop until I got so stoned I missed the last tram back to the campsite even though it stopped right in front of me. Favourite coffee shops had to be Barneys, tweede kamer, pink floyd, amnesia, grey area, katsu and the noon.

Unfortunately every time I've been since, and don't get me wrong it's still great and i had great times, but I've been left underwhelmed in comparison to the first time. The price is too high and not just because of the exchange rate. The selection in the northern coffee shops has often been the same and not quite up to par compared to the first time I went, or what I get at home.

Any one who hasn't been or hasn't been there, I seriously recommend the noon. It's still rocking it! They do blueberry 20 euros for 5g, quality varies though, still a good staple smoke. What blew me away was the quality of their hazes, for about 12 euros a g and demolished everything else I tried whilst there for the last 2 trips, price and quality. It's hard to find and it can seem a little uninviting, but look beyond the grotty exterior, often funny looks (at least one of the vendors/owner doesn't speak english well) and You'll find one of the best, if not the best coffee shop in the dam.
