If you have a Reverse Osmosis water filter, use the RO water in your car and other batteries. Mineral content in water can build up inside the batteries and shorten their life. RO, with almost no mineral content will prevent that buildup and extend the life of your batteries.

I was just reading a solar power discussion and one of its fiercest critics asked what are we supposed to do with the acres of batteries from homes after 6 or 7 years? As if it were an insurmountable task. I imagine by then there will be a healthy aftermarket in rebuilt batteries.

You may have just pushed the dreaded battery Armageddon date back several years with your tip.

Off cause. That has always been a rule where i live. We used to use
destilated water untill it became more common to use ro water.

Rilla.

Any advice on a decent RO set up?
im in the market for one :)

The name brand ones can get pretty expensive. I bought one off of eBay for $105 and am very pleased with it so far. Been using it for almost a year now, making about 100 gallons a week.

Kicking myself a bit!
There was a grow show on here a month or so back.
Some bods from America had flown in with there RO kits and on the last day were selling them off half price.
Course I didnt take the offer :stoneslap:

Theres another grow show on next month in London.
Maybe they will be back :dance2:

I love my RO system, i have the hydrologic 200, I bought the Hydrologic ro 100 off of ebay for about 100 bucks, then later bought the upgrade kit to make it the Hydrologic RO 200. Iam on a well so i had to use a booster pump.

Just ordered the fittings to permanently mount it under the sink

I have a 200l water butt for storing water.
How long would it take to fill that with your RO system?
One thing that puts me off is I hear there very slow.

Ive seen this 300 gallon per day system on ebay. Im going to call them tomorrow to find out about flow speed.

i can fill up a 5 gallon bucket in about 20 mins with my Hydrologic RO 200
