Indoor Anthro's Supercropping + Tie-down Experiment & Fabric Pot Mod

I agree, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that. Not that often I pop in to someone's grow and see a pink flamingo. Great attitude man, love it!

Flupdates: day 120 or so :sigh: lol, these crazy experimental plants are gonna go to 150 before done :( The sites are fluffing up nicely, and about evenly per plant, which I guess is the point of tying. One plant is still stretching up, which I find very odd at this point. Seriously ready to throw these out into my guerilla spot and let nature deal with them. I have better genetics to install! This grow has been a complete nightmare, but due mostly to me lol.

Sad sack pictures:
This crazy girl is still stretching :

One looks kinda cool from above, symmetrical:

A fractured branch shows to be doing fine:

This one looks the best:

Thanks friends! Qupdate: experimental plants' bud sites filling out nicely, the main colas are filling up better but the lower sites are all filling equally among themselves.

In related news, with temps now slightly under 100 lol, I've got all the lights on again. That is: 6x 23w CFL's, 2x 24" T5's grow lights on two opposite up poles, the "450w" led panel, and uvb bulbs: a 10w reptisun 10.0 and a 26w exoterra 10.0. The temps are of course better with just the led panel, but I decided to weigh more light as more important since temps are going down in general. The good news is I shouldn't need a heater during winter haha!

In other news, I've started chopping the sad budsicle plants lol! One smurfberry and the WW have been chopped, hung till dry (which happened wayyy too fast in the hot ass tent), and jarred to bring indoors to burp and cure under better temps. It's obvious that I need to build a drying box indoors with a carbon filter, so they can do the proper 5-7 day dry. In the 100 degree tent, they dry in 2 days :( The WW I actually jarred about a half day early so I could get it inside with normal temps to dry slower. The 2 remaining smurf budsicle plants have plateaued, scheduled for chop at 4am before lights on tomorrow :) At that point, I'll be able to focus space and time to Round 3 with better genetics, and the 4 experiment smurfs will be off to one side just doing their thing till done. :) About ready to start the Round 3 journal.

Today's pics. This is the good looking one filling up quite nicely:

Here's the experiment quad :) looking generally good, starting to feed on the fans a little bit, which seems early in relation to the bud maturity but remember I threw their timing wayyy off by pinching so late. Gonna give em another heavy dose of cal, epsom, seaweed fert, and molasses tea:

Off topic, the picture sux but the WW is gorgeous in person! Absolutely loaded with crystals. Yield was poor but I'm just not stressing it :)

That's it for now. Happy growing friends!

Looking real good in there bro, nice and organized! 100 is pretty hot bro! Those couple in the middle look awesome, filling out with bud!

Good work buddy :)

Got some more ammendments and goodies now and on the way. Mixed up a foliar and soil drench with 1 Gal collected rainwater, a tsp of lignite (supposedly about 30~40% humic acid), 2 tsp of seaweed fertilizer (for an N boost), and 1 tsp iron chelate (the iron didn't go into the foliar, just the soil drench). I hadn't added any humic acid ammendment to the soil yet, although the cow humus compost should provide some. I did my best to only hit the leaves and not the bud sites. They've got increasing yellowing on lower leaves so I think it must be the trademark mid flowering N def, despite my blasting them with seaweed fert in teas... Other than that, the bud sites are filling up nicely, and some hairs are turning already! Saw some healthy trichome development on the calyxes too. No sugar on leaves in these though... So far only 1 smurf ever had sugar on the leaves :/

Otherwise pretty healthy and happy for almost day 130 or whatever the heck we're up to now lol. I can tell they're not going to make even an oz each. Should've been growing Think Differents instead lol.

(Also installed a 4" duct booster fan on the intake ducting, which is barely moving any air... It said 80 cfm, but if it's 80 cfm then I'm santa clause lol. Also put in the proper 6" hard ducting to the exhaust fan, I had been using a 6" to 4" reducer and using 4" ducting... Yeah lol, it seemed ok in my head but looked and worked like crapola in reality lol! This may keep temps under 100F)

Update time with happy pics! Day whatever, around 130 or so lol. The yellowing has worsened, and would have me concerned but this late in the game, there's not much point in worrying. I thought it was N or Cal def, but I've been blasting them with seaweed fert and some cottonseed meal both of which are very N heavy, something like 6-1-1. Also provided gypsum for Cal, both as a topdressing and as a best attempt at a solution in water/tea.

Just not worrying about it anymore with these four lol. If anything, my already crappy yields might suffer a bit, but honestly most of the buds are destined for infusion into coconut oil. So, frankly, whatever they do, they do.

For what it's worth, any experts wanna chime in with what deficiency this might be? Apparently my extremely expensive organic soil mix still has a ways to go lol. The good news is that the bud sites do look okay and relatively healthy. More hairs are turning and trichomes on calyxes are looking nice.
Pics :)
A happy mini cola :)

Yellowing :/ it could just be natural progression, but sure looks like N or Cal def to me:

The best looking one still going strong:

Second best looking one with the lanky lady in the background:

The research quadruplets :) with the fabulously healthy looking round 3 off to the sides. Trying to finish this stupid set before making a dedicated journal for them, will probably be a perpetual journal and grow, just the way it's shaping up :)

Thanks for stopping by friends :)

Whoa these things are changing color faster than Michael Jackson lmao! Pics:

Here's some sugar leaves changing color :)
IMG_20140906_095114.jpg
I think the color change is a combination of: natural progression, the deficiency I still don't have figured out, and cooler temps. My fan upgrades have brought temps down just under 90 F peak, and night time temps are getting down to about 65~68 F.

Not for nothing, but I got a General Organics GO Box yesterday with the end goal of just trying a couple of the items and having it ready when I get up the guts to try a single DWC bucket kit. Well I figured I couldn't hurt the 4 experiment plants much more than I already have lol, so I gave them some Bio Bud, CalMg+, and Bio Thrive bloom, all at about 1/4 to 1/2 strength in a gal of rain water. Watered in about a half gal of that yesterday, and today wow, the flowers look MUCH improved! (also mixed up a lil bit of the young stage items for the youngsters and saw explosive growth this morning!) So, I still don't have high hopes for the yields of these 4, but it's looking much more hopeful than it was. Unfortunately the plants are racing to the finish line of death now lol, and won't get a chance to reach full potential. That's okay, I'm happy as long as I'm experimenting :)

Hey buddy looking great, I think they are a little hungry for some N bro-those leaves look to like they are being sucked for food. How often do you water brother? The leaves look a little "puffy" maybe the soil needs to dry out a bit?

You could try top dressing with something with a little more N in it, just to help them along, they do need N in flower too, just not as much.

The buds are looking really sweet though man, you got a handle on it.

Peace and love, Karma for ya :karma Cloud:

:Sharing One:

Yeah they're more puffy than usual right now lol, I had watered them with some heavy N (seaweed fert) with some lignite a couple days ago and then yesterday with the new GO mix, but gonna let them dry out several days now. I usually just water when the soil feels dry and pick up the pot and it feels light, about every 3 or 4 days. Been topdressing with everything I have with N lol, the seaweed fert (powder) and cottonseed meal. They're still eating leaves! I might do another foliar today with some of the liquid I have now from the Go Box, will have to research and read carefully beforehand.
