That will be a lot of heat in a small tent so be sure to have a good exhaust system to move the air through the tent. Use the back of the hand method to be sure your not too close to the plants. Just hold the back of your hand to the lamp at plant height. If your hand is uncomfortable warm so is the plant.

thanks man, got a 150 cfm exhaust fan and my basement temp is 64 degrees so i need a little heat, my 3x3 tent only 5ft 8 inches high- i can make it work :joy:

My basement is 59 degrees, Billy. I made one work in a 4 x 4, just enough heat in that for winter grows. But in a 3 x 3 I think you need more then 150 cfm exhaust, temps will be 85 Fahrenheit at a minimum.......I'd look for 250 CFM out.

thanks, store clerk said dont put out much heat-shoulda checked b4 buying, but ill make it work, bigger fan- bigger tent, whatever it takes  Looks like im putting the cart b4 the horse-once all in place then ill see what needs doin

I think they're pretty awesome for the money. Unless you DIY a comparable led would probably be at least double the price but could be more efficient, longer lasting. I think Philips is still best for bulbs Ushio & Hortilux get good reviews.
Runing a remote balast helps with temprature. When its hot run it outside the tent or close to exhaust, when its cold place it near the intake,... easy heat.
Ive only run 3100K veg&flower, and hope to use a 4200 and 3100 in a 4x4 this winter if my temperatures are manageable.

So in the future it's easy to figure out the heat.

All watts in an enclosed space generate the same amount of heat. 3.4BTU/H per watt.

315w in a 3x3 should be about perfect I ran 300w in my 2x4 and used a 190cfm 4" exhaust. It stayed in the 80s in AZ with no central AC.
